Smartwatches in Grades K-6
HSSD's Personal Communication Device Policy on our website (po5136) includes the use of smartwatches and other smart-devices. Students will be asked to keep their smartwatches in their backpack, locker, or cubby during the school day. Students may wear them after the bell rings at the end of the school day.
Morning Arrival Reminder
Students arriving by car should remain in their vehicles until 8:25 AM, as there is no adult supervision before this time.
Students who walk or bike to school should also plan to arrive no earlier than 8:25 AM.
Thank you for helping us ensure all students are safe and supervised when they arrive at school!

Costume Parade
~October 29th~
In recognition of all the hard work the students at Forest Glen have demonstrated so far this year, we will be having a Costume Parade on the morning of October 29th. All students and staff are invited to wear a costume to school and parade through the halls of Forest Glen!
What do you need to know as a parent?
This is a voluntary activity and students do NOT have to participate by wearing a costume. If your child does participate, please know that the costume must be appropriate for school. Students should plan on wearing their costume to school for the day as we will not be dressing children at school. Please follow the guidelines below if you choose to allow your child to dress up.
Costume Guidelines:
No full face make-up
No face masks
No scary costumes - including scary clown costumes
No weapons (swords, knives, guns, etc)
No props (wands, microphones, etc)
* Also, please be sure to check if your child has gym class. If their costume restricts movement please send other clothes and shoes for them to change into for gym.
Clothing Needed
The Forest Glen Health Room is in need of the following items:
Boys sweatpants/joggers (all sizes)
Girls sweatpants/leggings (size 7-14)
If you would be willing to donate, please drop items off in the office or send them to school with your child to be brought to the office.
A supply of extra clothes is available in the health room in case students have a bathroom accident, lunchroom spill, or get wet/muddy from a fall outside. We ask that borrowed clothes are washed and returned to school as soon as possible. Thank you!

DashPass Info
- If you plan on picking your student up early due to having an appointment, etc., you must enter this info via the DashPass app. This will take place of calling the office or emailing your child's teacher. YOU MUST STILL COME TO THE OFFICE TO SIGN YOUR STUDENT OUT.
- If you have not signed up for a DashPass account and downloaded the app yet, please do so as soon as possible. You must first create your Parent Portal account in Infinite Campus prior to using the DashPass app. Even if your child is not usually a parent pick up, this app will be used to make any changes to their dismissal plan, as well as to report an early pick up.
- If you have any issues, please contact DashPass Support by calling (954) 351-8448 or by email at support@dashpass.net
School Attendance
If your child will be absent due to an appointment, it is recommended that you obtain an excuse from your provider for the date and time of the visit and return the excuse to the school office. This will ensure that the absence is noted as a medically excused absence or tardy.
- To report an absence, please call the school's attendance line at 662-7990 by 9:00 am.
- Monitor your child’s attendance and report future absences through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal

Lost & Found
Please view the photo below of our Lost & Found items. If you see anything that may belong to your child, please email their teacher. All items left behind will be donated at the end of each month. Thank you!
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree will be starting to register families for our December Holiday Store. Please reach out to your school social worker if you think your student may benefit from assistance with The Giving Tree. For our generous community, look for information in future district communications about donating to our Holiday Store and volunteering!
This month we are collecting canned soup. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.
