Monday, April 22nd

The Wind Ensemble is performing at the American Classic Bluebonnet Classic Music Festival at the Tobin Center on April 26th, 2024 at 10:30 am. The festival is a free event, and no ticket is required to attend. See below for parking info.

Schedule for Friday, April 26, 2024

• 7:15 am - Call time (donuts provided)
  
• 7:30 pm - Warm up in band hall
• 8:10 - Change into tuxes/dresses
• 8:40 pm - Leave DHS
• 9:30 pm - Arrive at Tobin Center
• 10:00 pm - Warm up
• 10:30 pm - Performance
• 11:30 pm - Depart Tobin Center
• 12:15 pm - Arrival at DHS, change out of tuxes/dresses
• 12:30 pm - Parent pickup for students not attending SPI trip
• *lunch provided for students performing at Tobin center and attending SPI trip.

Students need to bring these items with them to school on Friday.

• Black dress shoes (closed toe), black crew length socks or hosiery, white undershirt for boys.

IMPORTANT: April 26th is the Battle of the Flowers Parade in downtown San Antonio. If you are planning to attend our performances, please plan for plenty of extra time to get downtown. Traffic will be heavier than usual, and parking will be limited. Please be advised garage and street parking is not free.

Trip shirts will be distributed on Tuesday during class.

Color guard students that will be participating in color guard recruiting will meet at Danville Middle School at 8 am on Thursday. Students must provide their own transportation to and from Danville MS. Please bring a lunch.

Results for Color Guard SLT will be published in the band hall at 4:30 pm on Thursday, April 25th. All other SLT results will be posted on Monday, April 29th.

The Fair Share Fee for the 2024-2025 school year will be $500. Siblings will be half price. Last year we fed the students over 20 times and used the majority of the fee to pay for food. Thanks to the support of our Booster Club, we are able to have a fair share fee that is hundreds of dollars less than programs in our area that we compete against. This fee is due on June 1st at band registration for the 2024 marching season. Payment plans are available. Please talk with Mr. Keyes is you have a concern regarding the fee.

All students who advanced to the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest will be attending the contest on May 27th. The performance schedule is expected to be published the week of April 22nd.
