Forest Hills Families,

We've had a great start to the school year! You'll notice at the bottom of this newsletter, 2 new buttons. Please be sure to click and read "The Counselor's Corner" each month. Our Guidance Counselors, Mr. Ben Bradford and Ms. Kim Tittle, create this newsletter to review our virtue of the month and other character education topics. "The Literacy Link" is created each month by Mrs. Hillhouse, our Reading Specialist, to inform parents of ways to help your child become a fluent reader. These two links are GREAT resources for parents!

If you couldn't join our Zoom Parent Engagement Meeting on September 2nd, please be sure to click the link below so that you will be up to speed on important things going on at Forest Hills. You can fast forward to 9:30 to start the meeting.

At 7:25 AM, the Kindergarten/Sibling drop off location and the 3rd/4th drop off location will be blocked off. This is because teachers on duty must get to class to begin instruction. If you arrive to campus at 7:25 or later, you will need to drop your child off at the front office.

Any student who arrive at 7:35 or later MUST be accompanied by an adult and signed in at the front office.

Students in grades K-4 will participate in E-Learning Days and learn from home on the following dates this year:

September 7, 2021

October 21-22, 2021

February 18, 2022

March 25, 2022

April 15, 2022

This means that your child will bring home their FCS school device/charger and learn from home on the dates listed above. Please review the following guidelines regarding E-Learning:

• Students will bring home the device/charger they've been assigned by the FCS Tech Department.
• The device and charger must be returned and in good condition on the following school day.
• All assignments will be uploaded into Schoology, our Learning Management System (LMS).
• Students will access Schoology by logging in through Clever with either their Clever badge (QR code) or FCS Google credentials.
• It is ESSENTIAL that your student completes all assignments on their E-Learning Day so that he/she does not fall behind.
• Paper packets may be sent home as well.
• If you have questions or have problems with Schoology, please contact your child's teacher via Remind or FCS email. If you have problems with the FCS device, please enter a work order by visiting http://www.florencek12.org/tech.

• No cell phones
• No walk-ups (do not park and let your child walk across the cross walk--this is dangerous)
• Siblings of K students should be dropped off and picked up with their K sibling.
• Kindergarten reminder: Parents of kindergarten students should use the South bound lane on Chisholm to enter campus (coming from Industrial Park). This would allow you to turn right, directly onto campus, into the lane you should be in.
• 1st & 2nd Grade reminder: Parents of 1st/2nd grade students should use the North bound lane on Chisholm to enter campus (coming from Cox Creek). This would allow you to turn left, directly onto campus, into the lane you should be in.
