Centennial HERO News Sept. 14, 2026

Centennial Academy is excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15–October 15! This month is an opportunity for our scholars to reflect on the past, embrace cultural identity, and celebrate the rich cultures and contributions of Hispanic communities.

Throughout the celebration, scholars will participate in age-appropriate learning experiences exploring Hispanic art, music, traditions, history, and culture. Each classroom will bring their learning to life through creative, collaborative activities that celebrate the colors, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic heritage.

Stay tuned, CA Families! We’ll share more details soon about special activities, important dates, and our schoolwide Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. We can’t wait to celebrate with our Heroes and families!

September is National Attendance Awareness Month!

CA Families,

September is National Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re reminding our Heroes and families that every day—and every minute—matters!

Our current Year-to-Date Average Daily Attendance (ADA) is 94.6%. While we remain above the district average of 93.6%, our attendance has begun to trend downward:

August ADA: 94.6%
September ADA: 94.4%
YTD ADA: 94.6%
District ADA: 93.6%

We need your partnership to turn that trend around! Consistent attendance helps scholars stay connected to their Crew, keep pace with instruction, and make strong academic growth.

And don’t forget about Attendance Palooza! 🎉 Encourage your Hero to show up every day and on time so they can stay on track to earn the exciting attendance prizes and incentives we have planned throughout the month.

Be Here. Be On Time. Be Ready to Learn—and earn those prizes! Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Let’s get our attendance numbers back up and keep them climbing!

Parents/Guardians, when visiting Centennial, please do not park in the numbered parking spaces. These spaces are assigned to staff.
Scholars who are not in compliance with their required immunizations will not be permitted to participate in any extracurricular activities until their immunization records are up to date.

At Centennial Academy, we believe it takes a village to raise a scholar. Our parents, families, and community members are the heartbeat of our school. Volunteering is more than a task. When you volunteer, you are building a warm, supportive environment where our scholars can feel proud, safe, and ready to learn.

Morning Greeter Volunteers Needed!

Each Wednesday from 7:30 AM - 8:15 AM, we are looking for two parent volunteers to serve as morning greeters. Morning greeters open up the car door for our car rider scholars and welcome them with a warm smile. You can sign up using the links for each date below.

Homecoming Court Campaigning

Important Reminders

CA Families,

We love the excitement and school spirit surrounding our Homecoming Court campaigns! As campaigning continues, we want to ensure that the fun does not interfere with arrival, instruction, or our regular school operations. Please keep the following expectations in mind:

Campaigning must be completed and cleared by 8:00 a.m. and may not disrupt our morning arrival process.
Please limit snacks, candy, and treats distributed in the morning. Large amounts of sugary treats first thing in the morning can impact scholars’ focus and readiness for learning.
Campaigning should be scholar-led! This is an opportunity for our Heroes to show their creativity, leadership, and school spirit. Families may support behind the scenes, but we want our scholars to take ownership of their campaigns.
DJs, fire trucks, and other large-scale campaign attractions are not permitted on campus.
Campaign materials may not cover or obstruct school-installed posters, signage, or important information.
Scholars must meet all Homecoming Court eligibility requirements, including being in compliance with required immunizations and having a parent/guardian with current PTA membership. Scholars who do not meet eligibility requirements will be removed from the ballot, and campaign materials will be removed. Scholars currently in jeopardy of not competing have already been notified.

Thank you for helping us keep Homecoming campaigning fun, fair, scholar-centered, and focused on learning. Let’s allow our Heroes to lead the way!
