End of Course (EOC) Assessed Courses:

Students taking courses with an EOC component can waive the final exam requirement. To ensure students are well prepared for their EOC test and to qualify for the final exam waiver, the student must demonstrate/agree to the following criteria for exam waiver consideration for all scheduled EOC tested courses:

  • Students must take the EOC as scheduled for the associated course

  • Students must be on track to earn a C or better for the final grade in the course

  • Students must earn a score of Advanced (5), Accelerated (4), Proficient (3), or (684 or higher) on their EOC exam in Algebra I, Geometry, and English II (students scoring in the Limited (1) range must take the scheduled exam)

  • Students must earn a score of Advanced (5), Accelerated (4), or Proficient (3) in U.S. History, U.S. Government, and Biology (students scoring below proficient must take the scheduled exam)

Students qualifying for the EOC exam exemption will have the following options to select from to determine their final exam grade:

  • The Final Exam grade will be tied to the earned EOC score 5 = A, 4 = B, 3 = C, 684 or higher, but not a 700 = D (Algebra I, Geometry, and ELAII only); 1 - must take final; the converted grade would go in as the highest number possible for the letter grade. i.e., A = 100, B = 89)

-or-

  • Average the 3rd and 4th 9-week grades.

-or-

  • Students will have the opportunity to take a final exam at their request during the regularly scheduled exam period for the course.

Please note that buses will only run at the regular times.

Student Spotlights: Check out some of our Titans and their accomplishments! Student Spotlights: Check out some of our Titans and their accomplishments!

On Thursday, April 30, two BMHS students - Noah Letterle and Harper Johnson - participated in the commencement ceremony for the Look Up to Cleveland Program. Over the last 8 months, Harper and Noah have been a part of this civic leadership program, along with other students from across Northeast Ohio. Look Up to Cleveland aims to increase civic awareness, collaboration, and leadership skills through an immersive program that connects students to local community leaders in business, government and nonprofits.

BMHS students have spent the past month exploring our watershed and the impact of stormwater runoff. They have transformed the campus retention basin from an invasive-filled space into a soon-to-be thriving native habitat. Next week, the area will support butterflies and birds while helping filter runoff before it reaches Abram Creek, which is part of the Rocky River Watershed & the greater Lake Erie Watershed.

Our students also presented their project at the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District Science Symposium and earned 2nd Place for “Most Impactful Action”! Congratulations!

News from the Counselors News from the Counselors

College Credit Plus - Planning for next year:

Students who are planning to take College Credit Plus courses during the summer or fall semester need to meet with their high school counselor as soon as possible. Students need to meet with their counselor to discuss course options and have an Authorization to Attend Form submitted before they can schedule their college courses. Email your school counselor to set up an appointment!

Course Verification Sheets are being distributed this week:

This week, students in grades 9-11 will receive a course verification sheet. This allows students to review the course selections they have made for the next school year. This is a review of students' "dream schedules" and not a guarantee they will get all of the classes they selected. If there are any errors or changes that need to be made, students should email their school counselor by June 1st, this will be the last day a student can request a change.
