Welcome Students and Learning Coaches!

Whether you are a returning student or just starting out, I'm so glad you have decided to join us in the virtual world! INGDA is a special place, and being a Digital Dragon means you will have more control, flexibility, and responsibility in your education than ever before. I'm here to help!

My name is Patricia Moore, and this is my 12th year of teaching and my third year with INGDA. I will teach your resource class, be your homeroom teacher, and work with you in small groups to support your learning. I will work with you to create your IEP, and I will lead your annual IEP meetings. I can't wait to work with each and every one of you!

IEP Meetings IEP Meetings

Each student will have at least one IEP meeting each school year unless moving from one school to another. In that case, a move-in conference will be held once the student switches schools. The Annual Conference Review, or ACR, will be held to review and update the IEP to best align with student performance. IEP changes can be made at any time with new data.

What should you expect? IEP meetings provide an opportunity for the student, guardians, general education teacher, counselor, paraprofessional teacher, special education teacher, and administration to discuss the educational needs of the student. Everyone has a voice! Everyone has a valuable perspective! The goal is to hear from everyone, look at grades, test scores, and other measures to evaluate if the IEP is working or needs adjusting. Once the IEP is updated and signed by a parent or guardian, that plan is communicated to the classroom teachers, so everyone is working toward the same goal.

Student Expectations Student Expectations

You will hear it over and over, but it is so important we cannot say it enough! The BEST way to maximize your education will include:

*Daily participation in class (On camera, On mic, On topic in chat)

*Ask questions (Understand your assignment)

*Attend help sessions (Or request one)

*Complete and submit work on time (Help is available. No excuses!)

*Check email and refresh your schedule daily (Expect updates and regular communication)

*Accept feedback (Not sure it's right? Submit, get feedback, correct, & resubmit! That's learning!)

*GIVE feedback (How is your IEP working for you? What do you need from your teachers?)
