Think Spring! Think Spring!

April is here, and so is spring! We hope that all our KES families had a wonderful spring break and are rested and refreshed for our last 9 weeks of school! As the weather changes and warmer temperatures return, we will also be warming things up with lots of fun and exciting events at KES to wrap up our 2024-2025 school year. Keep reading to learn about our exciting spring events and important school information!

Mark Your Calendars! Mark Your Calendars!

The Upcoming Dates section has had some major updates made since our March newsletter! Please review this section for:

-Classroom Field Trip Dates: Almost all of our grade level field trip dates have been solidified. Please mark your calendars if you plan to attend. Please keep in mind that it may be several weeks until permission slips for each trip come home, so please be patient and keep an eye out for those items as each field trip date gets closer.

-Spring Testing Dates: All of our spring assessments have been scheduled. Our staff and students have worked extremely hard this year, and we are excited to see the growth we have made! Please make note of these dates and ensure that your child is well rested and ready to test their best on those dates.

Summer Reading Opportunity: Kids Read Now Summer Reading Opportunity: Kids Read Now

We are always looking for new, enriching opportunities for our KES kids, and research shows that students who have more opportunities to read do better at school. We have a great summer reading opportunity we would like to make available to as many KES students as possible that is provided by Kids Read Now. Please use the following Kids Read Now KES Interest Survey Link to learn more about how the program works and tell us your interest level in a low-cost summer reading program for your child this summer. We are accepting responses until Friday April 11th.

Math Glow Day Math Glow Day

KES is excited to welcome families to join us for our Math Glow Day on Thursday, April 17th from 1:30pm-2:40pm. Family members can sign up to attend the event and join their KES student in fun math activities that will build their math fluency skills and foster a love for math. Any family members that wish to join us for this fun math event must confirm their attendance and ensure that they have a background check completed in the front office. Please look for more information regarding this event to be sent home soon!

KES Enrollment Night KES Enrollment Night

As spring draws near, it is time to start planning for our newest flock of Cardinals that will join us next school year. We are excited to welcome the parents of next year's GSRP Preschool, Young 5's and Kindergarten students to our annual KES Enrollment Night on Thursday, April 10th at 6pm in the KES Cafeteria. This is the best opportunity to get students signed up for Kindergarten, as well as any of the early childhood programs that KES has to offer. Please use the link below to access additional information regarding this event. Enrollment folders will be available the night of the event, or you can stop by the KES front office to pick up an enrollment folder any day leading up to the event.

Please view our KES Enrollment Night Newsletter for additional information!

Winter Clothing Update Winter Clothing Update

Spring is here, and we are starting to see some warmer weather! In the coming weeks, please have your child start to take home their snow pants, scarves, and other winter clothing items. As early spring is often wet and muddy on our KES playground, it is fine to have your students keep their boots, hat, and gloves at school, but the bulkier items that take up a lot of space in their lockers are safe to start taking home. Thanks for your help with this process!
