Bats Get a Bad Rap, But They Are Really Great!!

Bats are terrific pollinators, love mosquitos and their waste product, known as bat guano, makes great fertilizer. I had a bumper crop of of cherry tomatoes and eggplants this summer, due to the secret ingredient bat guano, a supplement to my soil. Find more facts about bats at the National Park Service website, Benefits of Bats. If you are teaching about bats, or any other subject matter, the Britannica database has some in depth articles which can be translated for students.

You can also listen to the articles. Read all about Bats from The Encylopedia Britannica . If you wish to access lesson plans, get a free educator account directly from the Britannica database.
