Lassiter Ledger
Week of August 25th
A message from Principal Ibarra
Dear Lassiter Families,
We've officially wrapped up our second week of school, and the energy and engagement in our classrooms have been fantastic! It has been a pleasure to walk through our halls and see the passion for learning on display. We're so proud of the way our students have started the year.
As we look ahead, we're preparing for another big moment: the start of our college classes on Monday, August 25th. This will be a new and exciting experience for many of our students, and we ask that you remind them to continue upholding the high standards of the Lassiter community, including our dress code, student code of conduct, and the use of ID badges. Our goal for every student this semester is to achieve B's or better, and we are committed to working with our staff to ensure your students feel supported every step of the way. We are all here to help them succeed!
For more important information, dates, and everything else you need to know, please be sure to read over our Smore newsletter. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
Respectfully,
Principal Ibarra
Lassiter ECHS

Senior Attendance Reminders
House Bill 1481 : Cell Phones & Personal Devices
As part of Texas House Bill 1481, student cell phones and personal communication devices are banned from public high schools during instructional time. As you know, our school is a stand-alone high school on the campus of Dallas College—not in a traditional high school facility—meaning our unique school setting is exempt from complying with HB 1481. This exemption applies to us for two reasons: specific safety considerations, including the lack of metal detectors and PA systems on the college campus, and the reality of needing phones and/or personal wireless devices to complete dual credit coursework.
Please see that attached letter for more details regarding our cell phone policy at Lassiter ECHS.
