Message from Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
It’s been a long hot week in the district and we are hoping for cooler weather and a full week of school next week. Thank you to our staff and families for being flexible and accommodating as we navigated Heat Days this past week. If you have not had an opportunity yet - please read our Heat Day FAQ which was developed in response to questions and suggestions from our community this week.
September is a busy month in the district, highlighted with our partners at the Coronado Schools Foundation hosting the annual GALA at the Hotel del Coronado on September 12th. Sponsorship opportunities and tickets to the Golden Gala after-party are still available. Every student in our district benefits from CSF funding and our schools would look very different without their support - CSF funds What’s Cool in School! Check out their website and see how you can help a csfkids.org
The Islanders are playing at home again tonight on Niedermeyer Field. Our talented cheer team will be leading the crowd as the varsity football team takes on Bishops at 7pm. Come out and show your Islander pride!
Have a great weekend,
Karl J. Mueller

CAUGHT POG'N!
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments celebrating how our CUSD family is bringing our Portrait of a Graduate vision to life. What a positive testament to our community!
- Edwin Mejia: Set up for an event following our map to a "T!" We were able to walk right in and get started!
- Rachel Lozano: Rachel put every piece of furniture back in my room in the exact place that it belongs. I did not have to drag a single desk, chair, or cabinet back into place. It was nice to be able to focus on curriculum, not furniture, upon my return to my classroom. I appreciate Rachel's attention to detail!
- Rudy Alcantara: Rudy set up items in my classroom that he knows will help it be successful and ready on the first day of school. I appreciate Rudy going above and beyond with a positive attitude.
Click here to recognize a student, staff member, or volunteer who has been "Caught PoG'n!"
Those who are recognized will receive a copy of the positive words shared about them and an official "Caught PoG'n!" decal. Please take a minute or two to highlight someone actively modeling our district's core competencies and brighten their day!
