Week of September 5

Welcome to Choir!

Mrs. Hounshell and Mr. Sellers want to welcome you to the 23-24 choir program! We have LOTS of wonderful things planned for this year. We are so excited to meet our students on Monday!

This week, in addition to singing, we focused on procedures, rules/guidelines, and created social contracts with each class period. We believe this is the best way to set students up for success. Next week, everyone will sign the contracts and we will display them around the room.

Next week, we will start learning music for our first concert on October 9. We will also go over the choir handbook (link to the handbook is below). We encourage parents/guardians to go over the handbook with their student, too.

Meet Mrs. Hounshell

This is Mrs. Hounshell's 20th year in education...all at Hamilton Middle School! She has a BME from Loyola University (New Orleans) and a MM from LSU. She is looking forward to another great year at Hamilton!

Meet Mr. Sellers

This is Mr. Sellers 2nd year of teaching! He has his BME from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is also a product of CFISD, graduating from Cypress Ranch HS in 2018. Mr. Sellers is looking forward to an exciting year!

This year's choir shirt!

Choir shirts are included in your student's choir fees. These fees will need to be paid through School Cash (link below). Once the shirts come in, we will pass them out to the students.

Cell Phone Policy

There is no reason for your student to have their cell phone out in choir. If you need to reach them during their choir period, please email Mrs. Hounshell (Lauren.Hounshell@cfisd.net) or Mr. Sellers (Joshua.Sellers@cfisd.net) and we will communicate with them. Cell phones should remain in student's backpacks on the backpack shelves OR in the "cell phone hotel."
