Halloween – Events and Costume Considerations
We will celebrate Halloween on October 30th with our annual Parade, Costumes, and class parties. We will host our annual Halloween parade at 8:15. Because this event is so well attended, we will be following last year's success and hosting the parent viewing portion of the school parade on the playground blacktop. The back gate on the west side near the school garden will open to parents at 8:00. We plan to begin the parade at 8:15. The front office will be closed from the start of school until the parade concludes. Please plan to meet all student costume needs before school starts. Next week's Wednesday Note will include a map of the viewing area for parents wishing to attend.
Students are welcome to wear costumes for this event. Please keep costumes in keeping with our dress-down day dress code, appropriate for an elementary school audience, and follow these guidelines: no weapons, no masks, minimal make-up, considerate of other cultures, and no excessive blood or gore. The Halloween parade requires a quick pace through multiple classroom doors. For this reason, costumes that are wide, very delicate, or have long trails may not fit through doorways, which can make the experience less fun for the students wearing them, so we do not recommend them. We will be ending the day with our Halloween class parties. If you are interested in helping with class parties, please contact your student's teacher or class captain.
Work Hard and Be Kind,
Mrs. Pilkington
