MHS Native American Club

MHS Native American Club creates opportunities for students to gain knowledge of Native American history and culture, promote awareness of Native American issues, participate in service projects in the school and community, and share Native history and culture with the staff and student body of MHS.

We will take our annual field trip to the OKC Thunder Native American Student Day event on Wednesday, November 4. We will also attend the Thunder game that evening, where it will be Native American Heritage Night! Students can sign up using the form posted in the club's Minga group.

At our September meeting, we worked as teams to match the names of our 39 Oklahoma tribes with their tribal seals! And we learned that Oklahoma has 3 Shawnee tribes, 2 Cherokee tribes, 2 Apache tribes, and two Delaware tribes! Gotta pay attention to those names!
