Superintendent's Letter
Friday, November 5, 2021
Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,
It has been wonderful to spend time in our schools visiting with our staff and students. I am consistently impressed by the high level of engagement and emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking, and verbal and written communication. This is the time of year we hit our stride and many fantastic activities are happening in our schools daily.
A reminder that schools are closed this Thursday, November 11th for Veterans' Day. Thank you to our veterans who served to protect our community and nation.

Lebanon School Board Update- Renovation Projects
On Wednesday, October 27th the School Board approved major renovations to Mount Lebanon Elementary School. The renovation will include a new front entrance, school nurse's office, Cub Care Student Support space, expanded Multi-Purpose Room, and the addition of a full cooking kitchen. Funding for the renovation project is coming from ESSER and Capital Reserve Funds.
The School Board also approved major renovations to Hanover Street School. The renovation project includes a new entrance and administrative offices, a new school nurse's office, and Art room. As part of the renovation, there will be a new cafeteria and renovations to the library media space. The renovation will provide learning spaces for students who receive supports and services including special education, English Language Learners, counseling, school psychology, and Title I Services. The HSS playground will be expanded with a new bus loop.
At the next School Board meeting on November 10th, the Board will discuss renovations to Lebanon High School including a new front entrance, student lobby, and band room. They will also discuss renovating the LHS/HSS campus front parking area so that the traffic flow is safer and LHS students can park on-site rather than in the Bixby lot.
Due to the scale of both the HSS and LHS renovation projects, a warrant article for a bond vote will be put forward to voters this March.
We encourage community members to participate in School Board meetings to vote in March.
