October is Disability Awareness Month, and we're shining a spotlight on the Shelton School District Early Learning Center!

Did you know that Shelton School District provides developmental preschool services for eligible children with disabilities beginning at age 3? At the Early Learning Center (ELC), we believe that early support can make a lasting difference!

Our developmental preschool classrooms provide nurturing, play-based learning environments where children build communication, social-emotional, motor, and early learning skills. Peer models also join our classrooms, creating opportunities for children to learn, play, and build friendships together.

Through our Child Find program, we partner with families to identify children who may have developmental delays or disabilities. We connect eligible children with services and supports at no cost to families.

Behind this important work is a dedicated team of teachers, paraeducators, specialists, therapists, and support staff who work together every day to celebrate children's strengths, support their individual needs, and create meaningful opportunities for success.

This Disability Awareness Month, we proudly celebrate our youngest learners and the incredible ELC staff who help them learn, grow, and thrive!
