FIELD TRIP!
We have our first school-wide field trip coming up! On September 29, 2023, students will walk with their class and their buddies to Sunpoint Park. In order to participate, students must have their annual update completed in Infinite Campus.
Update Infinite Campus Parent Portal
Click HERE for instructions on updating your parent portal in Infinite Campus.
Please do not use the NEW STUDENT OPTION to update information.
To ensure we have the most up-to-date information, it is important that all families complete this process by August 31.
Some previous information has already been populated, but there are a few areas that require an annual update. Due to legal requirements, not completing the Annual Information Update could impact a student’s ability to participate in some school events.
Please complete this as soon as possible. We appreciate your timeliness in completing these updates!
WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?
Please click on the link below to see what's for lunch this week. Students have the option every day to substitute the main entree for a yogurt and cheese stick, a turkey sandwich, a wowbutter sandwich or a salad. Yum!
FREE Breakfast & Lunch Application
Please complete this application so that your child can eat breakfast and lunch for free. This will also allow your child's school fees to be waived for the year. This application needs to be completed at the beginning of every year.
Please see the message below from the district about substitute meals:
Due to excessive negative meal balances across the District, all Gahanna-Jefferson schools will be reinstating a previously used meal charge policy. Starting Sept. 5, 2023, any student with more than five lunch charges this school year will receive a substitute meal in the cafeteria. At the elementary level this means accounts with more than $13.75 in negative charges and at the middle and high school levels, this includes accounts that have accrued more than $15 in debt. The substitute breakfast will consist of a breakfast bar, fruit and milk and the substitute lunch will include a cheese (turkey for dairy substitute) sandwich, fruit and milk.
Families will receive a phone call and/or email starting with the second negative charge to alert you of the deficit in your student's account.
If you need to add funds to your student’s account, you can do so through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal or with a check or cash. Additionally, if you think your family would qualify for free or reduced meals, you can apply via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, print a paper application from the District website or fill out a paper application found in the office at each building. Any student that is approved for free or reduced lunch for the 2023-24 school year will receive a regularly menued meal. Families with a negative balance from a previous school year will be contacted by the District office to ensure full payment by the end of the 2023-24 school year.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
School Arrival and Dismissal: Keeping your Children Safe and Sound at School.
We need our families’ help in keeping our children safe and sound at school. Following the safety procedures for arrival and dismissal is important. Your cooperation and commitment to keeping your children “safe” and “sound” at school is appreciated.
Students should not be on school grounds prior to 7:40 without prior approval of teachers or the principal. The Royal Manor staff is not on duty to supervise children until 7:40. Students entering the school for breakfast need to go directly to the lunchroom. Students eating breakfast at school cannot arrive at school before 7:40.
The parking lot / gymnasium door is for car drop off. It will be open for student arrival. In accordance with our arrival and dismissal plan, students will be dropped off in the parking lot on the side of school.
All students who walk to school will enter through the side doors by the kindergarten classrooms.
The gym doors (car riders) and side doors by the kindergarten classes will be closed and lock at 8:00AM (tardy bell). Any student arriving at 8:00AM must enter through the main office doors and check in with the school office.
The playground door will remain locked at all times.
Students exiting the school at dismissal will exit from the front door (bus and van riders), the kindergarten door (walkers), or the parking lot door (car riders). Students will no longer be permitted to exit the playground door. Only having three exits for dismissal improves our security.
At the end of the school day, it is critical that children leave school promptly. We appreciate everyone’s effort to pick your child up at school on time. The Royal Manor staff is not on-duty to supervise children after 2:35. If you do not pick up your child by this time, you must come into the office to get your child.
Regardless of the time of the day, parents must sign in at the office upon entering the school. We know you. Your willingness to wear an identifying name tag allows us to identify people who have entered the school without permission. Signing in at the school office is a requirement of the Ohio Revised Code (Section 3313.20).
The above points are in place to be proactive. We need your support and understanding. Working together to keep our children safe and sound is our number one concern.
Traffic Pattern: Arrival and Dismissal
Your child’s safety is our paramount concern. We would appreciate your assistance at arrival and dismissal to ensure everyone’s safety. A few years ago, the Gahanna Police Department worked with school staff to establish a safe environment during arrival. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is appreciated. The safety of our children is everyone’s responsibility.
Traffic Pattern Guidelines
Vehicles for drop off and pick up must enter the parking lot area on the right side of the school. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF IN THE FRONT DRIVE AREA OR ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. The front drive is for buses and vans.
Please be considerate of our neighbors by not blocking their driveways.
Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
The safety of children is everyone’s concern.
Students who walk to school must be dropped off and picked up at the end of the day at the Kindergarten door, which is at the left side of the building as you face the school. Parents must walk up to the Kindergarten door.
