WCCC teachers have access to Edpuzzle a great and ever-changing tech tool that takes pre-made videos (or your own) and requires students to pause & respond to basic assessments and review talking points. Why Epuzzle?

  • You can be off and running fast! It takes little time to figure out how to use it.
  • Grading perks! It grades student work (even the open-ended questions)!
  • Edpuzzle is great for review, concept introduction or even substitute lesson plans.
  • There's an ever-growing library of premade video assessments including ones linked to state standards. Discover Edpuzzle Originals
  • Teachers to control whether students can jump ahead, making it more likely that students watch the entire video.
  • Teachers can present it live in class together while students answer on a device or complete the lesson individually. (How-To Video)
  • Assignments are easily and quickly integrated into Google Classroom & Canvas.
  • Students can create their own Edpuzzles. (Directions are below in this Smore.)

Hopefully I've given you a reason or two to entice you into giving Edpuzzle a shot! Still questiong? I've got a plethora of more information where this came from.

Let's Do This! (Quick Start) Let's Do This! (Quick Start)

EASIEST--

Of course the easiest way to get started is to:

  • Use a pre-made video with questions

The next easiest way is to:

  • Use an existing video, most likely on YouTube and then add questions.

EASY--

The most "custom way" to get started (that is still not hard) is to create your own video content.

  • The easiest way to recorder your screen and make a video for your students is to record a Google Meet.
  • Don't worry, no one needs to be in the Meet with you! Using Google Meets is a great work around to the number, storage, and time limits of other tools like the free version of Loom & Screencastify.
  • This method allows you to show things from your computer or laptop or record a lesson from your document camera.
  • This video footage goes directly into your Google Drive so it is a very intuitive method.

Sub Plans Made Easy! Sub Plans Made Easy!

Edpuzzle is one of the easiest ways to make sub plans! Of course there's a lot of opportunity to continue learning and exploring what you're already doing in a unit of study, but it can also be a good opportunity to cover the things you want to or need to, but struggle to find the time when you're around.

Below is a list of real-world and life-skill type lessons that can come in handy!

  • Financial Literacy Video Lessons (Next Gen Personal Finance, Edpuzzle Originals)
  • Tracking Success: Teaching Executive Functioning Skills
  • Digital Citizenship Video Lessons

Students can make & submit their own Edpuzzles Students can make & submit their own Edpuzzles

With Edpuzzle, teachers have the ability to assign Edpuzzle creation as well as viewing. Students can submit a video they found on YouTube or one that they made themselves. This is a great opportunity to see what students learned in action and have them flex those creativity muscles. The ways to use this are ENDLESS!
