October 2022

We continued our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in October by reading books by noted Latino and Latina authors which featured characters of Latin descent and their lived experiences. Of course we did not want to miss out on all of the month's great seasonal books so we read some old favorites as well as some newer-to-us fun and spooky ones. Students' favorite read alouds this month were Just in Time by Yuyi Morales, In the Middle of Fall by Kevin Henkes, and The Widow's Broom by Chris Van Allsburgh. (Autumn image on left: Canva.)

New Books Are on the Way!

The fall book order has been submitted and our students, library staff and volunteers can't wait for their arrival! Be on the look out for these new books coming soon featuring graphic novels, sports books, realistic fiction, mysteries, and student and teacher requests. Special thanks to Mr. Franks, our school's secretary, for all of his assistance in placing this order. (Image of box opening from Pixabay.com.)
