Faces of the Week
Readers' Theatre Performance
This past week, our Readers' Theatre troupe presented their annual performance.
Congrats to all of the actors and thanks to Ms. Posey-Blue
for her dedication to fostering our students' interests in the Arts.
Baby Animals!
This week, some special guests visited 6th grade science classes. Chickens, baby bunnies, a mother bunny, and baby goats joined us. During the visit, students learned about animal care, life cycles, and the differences between mammals and birds. The experience gave students a hands-on opportunity to connect what they've learned to the real world, helping them understand biology and animal behavior in a memorable way.
Constellation Projects
This week, Ms. Keilholtz's science classes presented their constellation projects. As you can see, students really enjoyed learning more about astronomy.
8th Grade Get a Life Program
This week, our 8th grade students participated in the Get a Life program, sponsored by the West Virginia Treasury Department. The experience offers students the opportunity to navigate real-world decisions and manage a monthly budget. A special thanks to all of our volunteers who helped us facilitate the event for students.
Celebrating IXL Accomplishments
As part of our IXL Egg-cellent Challenge, some students won snack delivery from the principal. Teachers who have supported IXL were recognized as well. Yay!
JRTI and Blue Ridge Tours
Our 8th grade students visited James Rumsey Technical Institute and Blue Ridge Technical Community College to tour their campuses and explore their program offerings.
eSports Competition Updates
Congratulations to Jake Wells and Luke Holder. Their Rocket League team placed third in the Semi-Finals of the West Virginia Scholastic esports League. This League consists of both middle school and high school players across the state. Today, they traveled to West Virginia Wesleyan College to play in the finals with the top four teams in the state. Thanks to Ms. Dawson for sponsoring the team!
Fridays are for Lemonade
Thanks to Ms. James and her FCCLA Club for offering lemonade today for staffulty.
It was much appreciated!
