GBR November 2025 Newsletter

A Note from the Principal's Office
Hello, November!
It’s hard to believe we’re already over a quarter of the way through our school year! Even while I’ve been away on maternity leave, I’ve been hearing such wonderful things about how our Golden Arrows are learning, growing, and supporting one another. I miss seeing those smiling faces and all the daily GBR energy, but it fills my heart to know that our community continues to shine so brightly.
In October, our focus on saying “No Bullies Allowed” was evident in the many ways students showed respect, kindness, and resilience. As we move into November, our Energy Bus rule of the month is Love Your Passengers. This month, we’re encouraging everyone to lift others up with care, empathy, and encouragement. When we love our passengers—our friends, teachers, and families—we create a school where everyone feels seen, valued, and loved.
Families can help reinforce this message at home by asking simple reflection questions like, “What’s one kind thing you did today?” or “How did someone else make you feel special?” These small conversations help our students recognize the joy that comes from showing kindness and support.
Thank you for continuing to make GBR such a positive and caring place to learn and grow. Keep spreading love and kindness everywhere you go—our passengers are lucky to have you!
With gratitude and GBR pride,
Mrs. Pierson 💛
A Chill in the Air
The weather is getting cooler, which means it is very important that your learner(s) come to school with weather appropriate gear! We go outside unless it is raining, or the wind chill drops below zero.
All students are expected to go outside during recess. We have a very limited supply of mittens, hats, and coats for students to borrow. if you are in need of assistance obtaining such items, please reach out to The Caring Closet.
Updates, please!
If you have had any changes in your contact information (mailing address, phone number, etc.) please be sure to update this on the Parent Portal, or reach out to the GBR Office if you are unsure how to do so.
It is very important that we have the most up to date information available, including alternative contacts for your child(ren), in the event we need to reach you via phone or mail. Thank you! 😁
Free & Reduced Lunch Applications 🍴
Families are encouraged to complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application at any time during the school year — when in doubt, fill it out! If you haven’t submitted a new application for this school year, please do so as soon as possible. Families who have already completed the 2025–2026 application should have received notification of their eligibility status.
You can create an online account to easily monitor your child(ren)’s meal balance, view account activity, and add funds. Simply visit the district website, go to the "Child Nutrition" tab, and select “Access My MealTime Online” — or click the link below!
If you’re unable to print the online Free & Reduced Application, stop by the school office — we’re happy to provide you with a paper copy!
