Dear Camelot Scholars and Families,

Our school community is making great strides in the Building Bright Futures attendance challenge! Every two weeks, classes receive a new attendance goal, and for each day they hit their goal, they earn a Lego piece. On Mondays, students have the opportunity to add their earned Lego pieces to the growing Camelot Castle. This collective effort is transforming our castle into a powerful representation of all the days our classes are meeting their attendance goals.

Here are some highlights so far:

  • During the first two weeks of the challenge, our school earned an impressive 72 Lego pieces.

  • In the second two weeks, that number jumped to 102 pieces!

The energy and enthusiasm around this challenge have been incredible, and it’s inspiring to see students working together to achieve their goals. In addition to class tracking, students are also monitoring their individual attendance, fostering accountability and pride in their contributions.

Why Positive Attendance Matters

Positive attendance habits in elementary school set the foundation for lifelong success. Did you know:

  • Attendance is a key predictor of academic achievement – Students who regularly attend school are more likely to stay on track with learning milestones and develop strong academic skills.

  • Chronic absenteeism can start early – Missing just two days a month adds up to 10% of the school year and can significantly impact a child’s learning.

  • Building routines helps foster resilience – Regular attendance teaches children the value of commitment, responsibility, and time management, essential skills for success in school and beyond.

We are so proud of the progress we’ve made together and look forward to continuing to build our Camelot Castle brick by brick. Thank you for supporting your children in developing positive attendance habits. Together, we’re building bright futures!

Warmly,

Brooke Perry
