Hello Davis families!

Welcome to Week 33!

Thank you for joining us at Lunch on the Lawn—we truly enjoyed seeing so many families come together and share in our school community. Events like these are special opportunities to connect, and we appreciate your continued support.

As we move into the final month and a half of the school year, we want to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance. This is a critical time for learning, as teachers are wrapping up key standards, completing assessments, and preparing students for a strong transition to the next grade level. Each day of instruction matters, and absences—even toward the end of the year—can result in missed learning opportunities that are difficult to make up.

We also kindly remind families that students should remain at school after events like Lunch on the Lawn so they do not miss valuable instructional time. Maintaining regular routines helps students stay engaged, supported, and successful through the end of the year.

We invite you to join us on Tuesday, April 21st at 9:00 am for our Parent Cafe. Light refreshments will be available and this is an opportunity for you to come in and ask questions, have coffee with the Principal, and learn more what is happening at Davis. Please also continue to check our S’More Parent Newsletter for updates on upcoming events and important information at Davis.

A special thank you to our Davis PTO for hosting the Scholastic Book Fair—we are grateful for all they do to support our students and school community.

Thank you for your continued support!

Each week, we are proud to highlight students who have been nominated by teachers and staff for demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm for learning, dedication in the classroom, and the many ways they embody what it means to be a Davis Tiger.

Whether it’s through academic effort, kindness toward others, leadership, or a positive attitude, these students stand out and deserve to be celebrated.

This week, our Student Spotlight features first grade student Zayden P.! Mr. Lee shares that Zayden is showing increased participation and enthusiasm in his SIPPS group! Keep up the great work!

Please remember that the front gate does not open until 7:40 am as there is no supervision for students prior to this time. It is important that students come to school dressed appropriately, including wearing school-appropriate shoes. If your student comes to school in Crocs or sandals, they will be asked to sit out during PE and may not go in the barkbox or onto the fields during recess due to safety concerns.

Students who wish to eat breakfast in the cafeteria should arrive no later than 7:45 am. For students arriving by bus, please proceed immediately to the cafeteria. The cafeteria will be cleared out 15 minutes after the latest bus arrives to ensure that students do not miss instructional time.

Please remember that if your student has not yet been dismissed and you are in the loading zone, staff will be asking you to park or loop around to allow other parents to load their students who are waiting. We also ask that you model safe behaviors and use the crosswalk. Our Tigers know this is a Tiger Tenet and a way to be safe!

We thank you for your patience and for working with our staff to ensure dismissal occurs smoothly.

If your student will be out, be sure to call the office at 209-953-8301 to report your their absence. Students who have a medical or dental appointment will need to bring a note from their doctor upon their return.

Additionally, it is important your student arrives on time, ready to learn. School starts at 8:00 am and students are expected to be in their classes at this time. If students are arriving to school late, they are missing critical time that sets the structure for their day, including instruction and warm-up activities.
