Good Morning Memorial Families,
I want to start by extending a big thank you to the many parents who volunteered your time to helping us at our first Cardboard Creation Day. The kids had a really great time, and they practiced their collaboration, communication, and creativity skills throughout the day. A big thank you to Kristy Bradley for staying after and helping us get the (very large amount) of cardboard into the recycle bin and leaving a spotless gym for bus dismissal.
This Wednesday night at 5:30pm, we look forward to seeing you at Family Math Night. You will have an opportunity to learn more about ST Math and Bridges through hands-on exploration with your children, and we will have some fun puzzles and thought-provoking questions to engage with. We are still looking for a few more people to highlight math in our community. We want to know, how do you use math in your job? How is math important in your work? If you are interested in sharing about how math is used in your job with our students, please reach out to me at wbell@mursd.org. We are creating a google slideshow to share that night and would like to have you design a slide. We hope that this will be a fun night for both parents and students alike, and a way to highlight all of the mathematicians in our community- big and small.
We are looking for another parent to join our school council. The School Council is an advisory board to the principal. It is an opportunity to discuss school improvement, share ideas, and get up to date information about what is happening in the school. This is a minimal time commitment, as we meet monthly for an hour on Monday afternoons at 3:45pm. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to me.
