May Message
Selma Families,
As we step into May, I want to take a moment to express how proud I am of our school community. This month brings important moments of gratitude, perseverance, and celebration.
Teacher Appreciation Week gives us a special opportunity to recognize the incredible educators who serve our students each day. Our teachers go above and beyond—creating engaging lessons, nurturing relationships, and supporting every child’s growth academically and socially. Thank you for partnering with us to celebrate their dedication and impact. A kind note, encouraging word, or simple thank you truly means so much to them.
I also want to commend our 3rd–5th grade students for their hard work and determination during STAAR testing. They approached this challenge with focus, resilience, and confidence, and we are extremely proud of their efforts. Thank you to our teachers and families for preparing, encouraging, and supporting our students throughout the testing season. Your teamwork makes a meaningful difference.
As we head toward the final weeks of the school year, we look forward to continued learning, celebrations, and special memories. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership as we finish the year strong.
Warm regards,
Dr. Melissa Martinez
Principal
Bike Rodeo
Selma Families
Our Bike Rodeo is coming up soon. Please see the attached flyer for times and the attachments for bike information. All bikes must be brought and picked up by car unless your student rides it to school. Bikes must be brought to the side gate, by the gym, to the left of the school (where the busses drop off in the morning). Please park in the teacher parking lot and walk the bike to the gate under the breezeway. We will take your students' bike and keep them in the gym. For afternoon pickup, please pick up your student first in the car line, go around to the side and then proceed to park in the teacher parking lot to walk up to the gate to claim the bike.
You must wait until all the busses have left to drop off and pick up.
We’d love for you to join our PTO! Your voice and involvement make a big difference in our school community. If you’re interested in supporting our students, events, and staff, please consider becoming part of the PTO family. We hope to see you there!
Arrival & Dismissal Traffic Reminders
Selma families please be sure that we are following our traffic plan for arrival and dismissal.
- Please do not drop off students in the bus lane and staff parking,
- At arrival please do not park in the car line and walk up to the door, we need to keep the car rider line moving, if your students need help, our staff will help them out of the car
- At dismissal it is important to have your car tag to ensure the safety of our students. The safety of all is important to us so we also ask you not to exit your vehicle while actively in the dismissal lane.
- All walkers should walk home safely along the sidewalk, it is not a car rider pick up location.
- We do not allow early dismissal after 2:30 and walk ups during the time of dismissal.
Please be sure you have your blue card on the dash of your vehicle, if you do not have it, we will ask you to park and come inside to school to receive a new card with your identification.
