Nurse's Notes

Headaches??

A few key tips to remember:

  1. Eat a meal or snack every 3 hours. As your blood sugar drops, your body may respond with a headache, as a reminder, that you need to eat and nourish your body.
  2. Stay hydrated with water! You need to drink half your weight in ounces of water each day. Dehydration will lead to headaches. For example, if you weight 140 pounds you need to drink 70 ounces of water each day. (No, sugar or energy drinks do not replace water!)
  3. Get enough un-interrupted sleep each night. A phone vibrating all night from snaps and texts is not un-interrupted. Tell your friends 'good night' and turn off the phone. Your body repairs itself while you sleep—at night (not during the day). A teenager needs 8-10 hours of sleep each night!!

Follow these tips for optimal health! Or see Nurse Sara and she will remind you!
