Dear DMS Families,

As we move into next week, we will hopefully see days filled with a lot more sun. This would be great news for our baseball and softball teams, although yesterday luckily ended up being beautiful. The nice weather always helps to get us through the end of the school year.

Next week, we will begin STE MCAS for grades 5 and 8. Grade 5 will test on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, and Grade 8 will test on Thursday and Friday. This will conclude testing for Grade 5, while Grades 8 will continue with Civics testing in the coming weeks. Grades 6 and 7 are officially finished. We want to thank you for your partnership throughout our MCAS testing. This can be a stressful time of year for our students and we are grateful for the support from DMS families. In addition, student attendance was great throughout our testing period, which was a huge help during the process.

Below you will find information on the PTO Color Run, DRRHS CTE Summer Camp, cheerleading try- outs, and soccer, as well as April Students of the Month, and an invitation to the DMS Gym Dedication on June 1st. Please also find information on the Spring Scholastic Book Fair.

Have a great week!

8th Grade End of Year Events

We know that 8th grade students and families are highly anticipating their end of year events at DMS. Please be on the lookout for an informational email from Mrs. Rose TODAY.

Students at Baseball/Softball Games

Students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home, and return for the game if they would like to watch. We are finding that not many students staying for the game are actually watching it. If this is the case, students should not attend. Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
