Message From the Principal
We wrapped up state assessments! This coming week we will be working on any make-ups for those that were unable to to test on their testing days. The window for state assessments closes this week, if you are going to miss days and you need to make up assessments please let me know so I can make sure to test when you are here. Thanks!
Our 8th graders went on their Job Shadowing experience today. HUGE Shout out to Ms. Andrews for coordinating all of this. She worked very hard to match students with careers they were interested in or would like to learn more about. HUGE thanks to the parents who helped transport their child to their job shadowing. HUGE thanks to all of the businesses, companies and individuals that let these 8th graders come and shadow them and ask their questions.
Below you will see a few photos from the day, I am sure there are more that are out there I just haven't received them all yet, I will share more when I get them.

News from the Nurse
Our Nutrition Club has been busy with breakfast this week! Kids
who eat breakfast, focus and concentrate better. Math, reading,
and testing scores are better. Planning your child’s morning to
include a routine with a healthy breakfast provides many benefits.
When protein is part of their breakfast, they don’t get as hungry
before lunch. What our kids eat and do plays a huge role in their
development. We have been learning how to read food and
beverage labels as well as what ingredients are in the food we
consume. We put that knowledge into action with a healthy
breakfast! We talked about the importance of a healthy breakfast
while eating yogurt parfaits! Vanilla Greek Yogurt with berries and
granola! Here are other healthy breakfast ideas!
Instant Oatmeal-make with fat-free or low-fat milk then add any
dried fruit and nuts, granola, or cereal.
Bagels-spread with cream cheese or hummus and veggies like
cucumber, tomato, shredded carrots
Breakfast Smoothie-Blend low-fat milk with frozen fruit and a
banana.
Toast-with nut butter and fruit
Roll ups-spread with cream cheese or nut butter and add berries
or a banana
