Volunteers: NOW is a great time to complete all paperwork!
If you plan to volunteer at Marbrook (chaperone a field trip, help in the classroom, help at a school event such as the Book Fair etc.) you must complete the State of Delaware process to become an approved volunteer.
There are three documents you need to turn in:
1. Confidentiality Agreement
2. TB Risk Assessment
3. RECEIPT for the $14 online fee for the Child Protection Registry
Documents must be received in the office BEFORE the date of the volunteer opportunity/field trip.
Volunteer approval is good for ONE calendar year. So, if you completed this last November you are cleared through November 2026. Then you must resubmit the three documents. If you are unsure when you expire, you can call the main office at 302-992-5555.
Some parents have expressed trouble with the Child Protection Registry site. We have learned that it is best to do this on a computer versus a phone. That seems to be more successful.
🚩🚩🚩🚩Please note you will only need the Child Protection Registry (background check-$14) to volunteer at Marbrook. You DO NOT need fingerprinting one for the type of volunteering at Marbrook =)

DFRC Hand-In-Hand Program
DFRC Hand-in-Hand Program
From March through June, the DFRC Hand-in-Hand Program pairs children and young adults ages 4–18 with intellectual and/or developmental disABILITIES together with high school juniors and seniors who participate in the Blue-Gold All*Star Program—including cheerleaders, football players, band members, and student ambassadors.
Throughout the program, pairs attend free, fun activities designed to build meaningful friendships, create lasting memories, and foster a true sense of belonging. By bringing students together in an inclusive and welcoming environment, the Hand-in-Hand Program provides opportunities for participants to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate the things they have in common.
Interested in learning more? RSVP for our upcoming Parent/Guardian Information Session on November 4, 2026: https://dfrc.dm.networkforgood.com/forms/hand-in-hand-parent-guardian-zoom-session-nov-4th-2026 or reach out to Alaine Grunow at agrunow@dfrc.org.
