The Tiger Times

Week of January 12, 2025
Good Evening Tigers,
This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates.
As we are sure you have heard, tomorrow, January 13 will be a Remote Learning Day for students. Just like Friday, our staff have created learning opportunities for your student. Please have your child check in with their class on Canvas. Due to the Remote Day tomorrow, the remaining EOC Blitz's will be cancelled.
There are only 2 more school days until semester final exams begin! EOC & CTE State Exams Exams will be on January 17 through January 23. State exams include Math 1, Math 3, English II, Biology, Child Development, Business Management I, Health Science I, Business Essentials, & Financial Planning I. If your child has any of these classes, they will have class during that block on January 15th/16th for review.
Teacher-Made and GCS Exams will be January 15 and 16. On January 15 we will have half day 1st block then half day 3rd block. On January 16 we will have half day 2nd block then half day 4th block. All courses that do NOT have a State Exam, will have an exam on January 15th & 16th. Attendance will be taken. If your student passed the Project Based Measure in your CTE class, students still must attend a full day.
Remember, all final exams are 20% of your child's course grade. Your child can give you all of this information or can get the information if needed from his or her teacher. You can also contact your child's teacher or our counseling department if you have any questions.
Athletics are in full swing this week! Check our our website and our newsletter for more details!
We look forward to seeing you Tuesday!
Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Remote Learning Information
All teachers have been informed to update learning opportunities on their classroom canvas page. For some teachers there might be an assignment or discussion posted for response, they may have received a paper packet from school, or there might be another form of learning opportunity. Please have your child log in tomorrow and check their teachers canvas page for details. We also have a guide for parents, posted on our webpage under the PARENTS tab. Find additional tech support guides for families at: https://www.gcsnc.com/families/technology.
If you or your student needs to contact their teacher, please do so via canvas, email or remind. Email or remind can also be used to contact counselors.
- We understand that the hotspots we expected were not delivered. We apologize for any burdens this causes.
- Meals will be available from 12noon until 1pm at Dudley High, Rankin Elementary, and Union Hill Elementary. Ragsdale is NOT a lunch site on 1.12.25

After isolation, the individual should continue with enhanced prevention strategies for the next five days, such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and improving hygiene and air quality.
