The Saint Albans Messenger and the Rotary Club of St. Albans reported that "The winner of this year’s contest was Mackenzie Smith, who received a check for $200 from the Rotary Club of St. Albans. Mackenzie will move on to represent the club in the District 7850 Second Round in March. Her speech focused on her experiences with Rotary Interact and her engagement in both school and community activities. She shared, “Rotary’s involvement with high schools in planning events allows students to feel heard and understand that their ideas can make a difference. This connection creates a bridge between local citizens and the youth, fostering community growth and increasing opportunities for unity and involvement. The Rotary partnership enhances respect within the community and school by encouraging students to understand the struggles of others and inspiring us to make a lasting impact.”

Junior forward and assistant captain Ethan LaPlume scored two goals in the Bobwhites’ D1 playdown game against Burr & Burton on Saturday, March 1.
