On Wednesday, October 8th, 8th Grade students will be taking the PSAT 8/9. This assessment provides a baseline measure of a student's college and career readiness as they begin high school. It is a low-stakes test designed to help students, families, and educators identify strengths and target areas for improvement early on.

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) requires that all students in grades 3-8 participate in three ILEARN Checkpoints in addition to the ILEARN summative assessment in the spring each year. These Checkpoints are a component of the ILEARN through-year assessment for English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math. The Checkpoints occur seasonally in fall, winter, and spring.. Each Checkpoint has 20-25 questions to show how an individual student is performing on key skills and concepts from the Indiana Academic Standards.

College GO! Week provides an opportunity for students to begin thinking about their future education and career goals. Throughout the week, students will learn about different college and career pathways, the importance of setting goals, and steps they can take now to prepare for high school and beyond.

Mrs. Sims has been making her way to meet with all 6th grade students for her " Minute Meetings. " One of the questions the students are asked is, " What are your thoughts on a future career?" Pairing this questions with our College- Go week on Monday, what better time to share their answers! They are our future, and it looks bright !
