Message from the Principal
PLV Families,
Regular attendance and arriving on time make a powerful difference in your child's academic growth, social connections, and daily confidence.
When students arrive on time, they start the morning feeling settled and ready to learn alongside their classmates. Missing even a few days or routinely arriving late can make it difficult for children to stay caught up on key classroom instruction, establish daily routines and group activities.
We know that life happens and medical appointments or family needs arise. To help you plan ahead and minimize missed instruction, we have included an updated calendar of all days off for the remainder of the school year to this update. We encourage you to use these scheduled breaks when planning medical visits, long weekends, or vacations whenever possible.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Nowell

Morning Arrival Reminders
No students are to be dropped by car in front of the school, especially before 8:45 as there is no adult supervision. All students arriving to school by car must use the carline.
Students who walk to school need to wait near the front door. Students should not be playing tag or running up and down the sidewalk.
PLV Band & Chorus

Classroom Celebrations and Snack Order Info
We have had questions about birthday celebrations and ordering snacks for classrooms. Please find the links below for information about the district outside food policy and ordering classroom celebration snacks. Please be advised that the nutrition department requires orders 10 days in advance. No outside food is permitted.
Dismissal Changes & Reminders
Dismissal changes must be communicated to your child's teacher and Ms. Jaimie in the front office BEFORE 3:00pm. This buffer gives our office staff and teachers enough time to safely route your child to the correct location without any last-minute confusion. Clear communication before 3:00 PM prevents chaotic handoffs at the end of the day and guarantees that every student gets home safely.
Parents in the car line for either arrival or dismissal need to stay in their cars. Staff will signal for students to exit their cars as we do not want students getting out/getting in their cars while cars are still pulling into the line.
Volunteers
All volunteers will need to be on the district approved volunteer list. Volunteers are an integral part of our success and our belief that together we are stronger as a district. Please complete the volunteer application and submit all the information requested. All personal data submitted by applicants is confidential. Including a personal email address in your application will ensure you are informed once your application is approved. As part of standard school safety practices, all volunteers and visitors to CSD schools must provide a photo ID each time they visit any District facility.
This is required for parents/guardians volunteering in the classrooms, visiting for lunch, chaperoning field trips, etc.
