Blue Jay Briefings
October 2025
A Message from the Office of the Superintendent
Blue Jay Families,
What a great start to our 25-26 school year! Fall is definitely in the air and things are busy throughout the district. Please be watching for communication from the school district, building, and classroom. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out with a phone call to the appropriate person in the district.
I want to highlight that we will continue hosting Family Jay Nights. We are very excited about this year's Family Jay Nights. We are structuring these events a little differently this year with each building hosting a Family Jay Night specifically for the families in each building. These are a great way to connect with other parents, better understand your child(ren), and know all of the resources available to you through our school and community.
I am confident that this school year is going to be a great one. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Proud to Be a Blue Jay,
Mike Henry
Superintendent Mike Henry Announces Retirement
At the September 22, 2025, school board meeting, Superintendent Mike Henry gave official notice of his intent to retire at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
Mr. Henry has served in public education for 25 years, including 19 years in administration. For the past nine years, he has proudly served the Marshfield R-I School District—four years as Assistant Superintendent of Operations and the last five years as Superintendent.
During his time at Marshfield, Mr. Henry has taken great pride in the many accomplishments of the district. He will be remembered for his servant leadership, kindness, love for Blue Jay students and community, and the vision that has guided the district forward. Known for being approachable and deeply connected to both staff and families, his leadership will be sincerely missed.
Reflecting on his decision, Mr. Henry shared:
“After much prayer and careful consideration, I submitted my retirement letter to the board for the summer of 2026. Serving this school district has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. I believe God brought my family and me to Marshfield, and I am so thankful He did. I am grateful to Marshfield’s educators and support staff for making this such a special district and for the way they serve our students and community.”
Mr. Henry’s retirement will become effective in the summer of 2026. Until then, he will continue to lead Marshfield Schools with the same commitment, faith, and passion that have marked his career.
The Marshfield R-I Board of Education will begin the search process immediately to fill the Superintendent position for the 2026–2027 school year.

Early Learning Center
Good Dads Strong Schools
Webster Elementary is excited to partner with Good Dads Strong Schools, a program designed to strengthen the bond between fathers (and father figures) and their children while building character and community.
Each session, dads or other role models are invited to join their children at school for a special before-school breakfast and an interactive activity. Together, families explore fun themes like teamwork, communication, gratitude, and respect—all while making memories and connections that last.
Why it matters:
Children thrive when fathers and father figures are engaged in their education.
Stronger family connections mean stronger students and stronger schools.
It’s a chance to meet other families, enjoy time together, and be part of a supportive community.
We welcome all caring dads and role models to participate. Stay tuned for details on dates, times, and how to get involved.

MJays Legacy Spotlight
The MJays Legacy Spotlight is a new feature on our district website that shares stories from alumni.
Any graduate can submit their story, and each one becomes part of our growing collection celebrating the lasting impact of being a Blue Jay.
What makes these spotlights especially meaningful is how often alumni mention the teachers, coaches, and staff who shaped their journey. Recent submissions have recognized current staff members for the influence they had during those students’ high school years.
These acknowledgments are a powerful reminder that the work you do today extends far beyond the classroom — leaving a legacy that alumni carry with them into their careers, families, and communities.
We encourage you to explore the MJays Legacy spotlights on our website and celebrate both our alumni and the staff members whose dedication continues to make a difference.
