Where is Wysocki?

Hello all!

If you didn't know, my main office is room 100L located inside the GHS front office. Starting soon, you will see me at your site for in-person office hours. I should be there at least once every two weeks. You can also schedule time to meet with me in person or on Zoom using my Calendly Details to come shortly!

I've enjoyed working with so many of you already and am excited to be on site with so many more of you soon!

Ed Tip: Cyber Sandwich from Eduprotocols

Looking for a procedure to use in your classroom when students need to read, summarize, compare and and report out? Cyber Sandwich provides a structure to guide students through that process. Check out the procedure here and/or watch below. To be sure, this is not a "new" idea, but it is a nice twist on something you may already be doing. I like to take ideas like this and modify to my own style.

Emoji Keyboards

Yes, classroom now has some dynamic text options, but did you know you can insert emojis too? Anywhere you can type, you can place emojis.

Chromebooks

  • Right-click in the spot you want to place your emoji and select emoji

  • (You can also use the on screen keyboard but that is a little more complicated)

Windows: 3 different ways

  • Press the Windows key and the full stop (.) key together

  • Press Windows key and the semicolon key (;) together

  • Right-click in the spot you want to place your emoji and select emoji

Mac:

  • Control + Command + Space

Of course this tip works outside of classroom too.

Google Classroom Management Tips

  1. Control the amount and type of notifications you receive from classroom in settings.
  2. Turn off students' ability to comment on stream or mute students who are struggling with commenting appropriately.
  3. Grading on the four point scale and realized you can't use a decimal point? Make assignments worth 40 pts: a 3.5/4 =35/40.
