Updates from Principal Bican
Dear Meadowview Parents & Guardians,
We had a great day today at the annual Meadowview Floor Hockey Tournament for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students! Thanks to all of the families who joined us this morning and afternoon to cheer on their child’s class at the tournament. Floor hockey tournament day always brings a ton of energy and excitement to the school! Thanks to Mr. McCarthy for organizing the event and to our high school volunteers who help to make this event a success!
Parent Input Form for 2026-27 School Year
We'd like to invite you to share any information you'd like our school staff to know about your child as we begin to plan for the 2026-27 school year. The intent of this form is to allow parents to share information about their child's learning style, strengths, interests, needs, or any other information relevant to our planning process. If you child will not be attending Meadowview next year, you can still fill out the form and your form will be delivered to your child’s boundary school as long as the form is received by the submission deadline.
Please know that specific teacher requests cannot be honored. There are a lot of important factors that play into creating balanced class lists that must be prioritized.
Process: Parent input forms must be printed and handed into the main office by Friday, April 10th for consideration. Printed forms are required because they are used when sorting and balancing classroom sections. The ability to provide input is offered for more than 600 students, so please do not send your input via email.
February Students of the Month
This week we celebrated our February Students of the Month. These students were recognized by their teacher for always showing the character trait of empathy. Congratulations students!

Recess & Outdoor Breaks
Please be sure to send cold weather gear with students each day! Students will go outside for recess and/or break if temperature is above 0 degrees (actual temperature or wind chill temperature). Often temperature fluctuates throughout the day, so while we may not go out for recess, classrooms may go out for afternoon break.

Attendance Tip!
Getting to school on time is just as important as being at school. Research shows that continued tardiness leads to poor attendance. Many of the most important parts of a student's day happen within the first 15 minutes. This is often when they have a time to socialize with their peers, orient themselves for the day, take care of necessary business, and connect with their teacher before the day starts. Never underestimate the power of the first 15 minutes of school!
End of Day Routine
Please make sure your child's teacher has an accurate, up-to-date plan for your child's dismissal at the end of the day.
When changes are needed, please communicate those changes with your child's teacher prior to the start of the school day. We cannot always guarantee teachers will see emails during the work day (as it depends on the activities they have planned with the students).
For EMERGENCY CHANGES, please communicate with the teacher and call the front office no later than 2pm. Changes to end of day routines are difficult for students and teachers. If at all possible please change YOUR routine instead of your students routine.
