St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER |WEEK 0 TERM 4 2026
Good morning everyone,
I hope you’ve all enjoyed a safe, relaxing holiday break and are feeling refreshed for the final term of the year. Welcome back to Term 4!
A huge congratulations to Father G and his team for organising Friday night's Parish Quiz Fundraiser. It was fantastic to see parishioners, parents, students and staff all coming together to support such a worthy cause. The event raised an incredible $7,000, featured some amazing donated prizes, and had a wonderful community atmosphere. A great night and a credit to everyone involved!
We have a busy start to the term ahead. On Wednesday, our whole school community will gather at the church for our Welcome Back Mass. We warmly invite parents, grandparents and friends of the school to join us if you are able.
On Friday, our Year 6 students will head to Perth for their excursion to the Zoo. Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be hosting our much-loved Year 5 Night of the Notables, followed by the Bernie’s Athletics Carnival on Friday. There’s certainly plenty to look forward to!
Please keep an eye out for our Curriculum Overviews, which will be shared this week. These documents are designed to give parents a clear picture of what students will be learning throughout the term and provide opportunities for conversations at home that can further support learning.
On a personal note, my family and I were fortunate enough to spend the holidays in Exmouth. We were blessed with beautiful weather, great company and some unforgettable fishing and snorkelling experiences. I even took my boat up for the first time and, thanks to one of our wonderful school dads sharing a few secret fishing spots, we managed to catch some fantastic fish. The highlight was a 128cm cobia, easily the biggest fish ever caught on my little boat! It was a wonderful break, and I’m returning feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for a busy run towards Christmas.
Just a final reminder that students return to school on Tuesday, not Monday.
We look forward to seeing everyone then and sharing another fantastic term together.
God bless,
Geordie

In the Catholic tradition, our parish and school are closely connected.
The parish, led by Father Giovanni, provides spiritual leadership and is responsible for ensuring we nurture students’ faith alongside academic learning. The school supports the parish by helping children grow in Catholic values, preparing them for sacraments, and encouraging family participation in parish life.
It’s essentially a partnership — the parish is the faith community, and the school is one of its key ministries. For more information about our Parish, please click here:
