Spring Social + Auction: Tomorrow, April 18
We are so excited!!! Our Spring Social + Auction is tomorrow! It’s shaping up to be a wonderful evening filled with great company, fun, and meaningful support for our school.
We can’t wait to gather together, celebrate all that makes our community special, and enjoy a memorable night. Thank you in advance for being part of it, we are truly grateful for your support and enthusiasm.
Bidding is LIVE! Let’s make this our most successful Spring Social + Auction yet!
See You Tomorrow Night!
Thank you again for your generosity
As we step into our Spring Social and Auction, we want to again thank you for your incredible generosity regarding our recent matching gift request, where we reached our $125,000 community goal. Because every dollar you contributed was matched, we have hit a grand total of $250,000! These funds allowed us to offset some of last year's expense and initiate planning and formal design work for school locker rooms and restrooms.
As you can imagine, a project of this scale requires careful coordination. While we aren’t quite ready to break ground just yet, our team is already hard at work with plans, permits, and scheduling. We look forward to sharing more updates with you as we get closer to the first step of construction.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our original matching donor. Your incredible generosity provided the spark that inspired our entire community; we are so grateful for your vision and your investment in our students’ future.
This transformation will provide our students with the modern, high-quality facilities they deserve, and it simply would not be possible without this collective effort. Thank you for making this vision a reality.
K-5 Spring Musical: Wednesday, May 6 - 6:30pm | Musical Attire Request
It’s time to get ready for our K5 Spring Musical! Your student is invited to wear a solid black top (please no logos or prints) with either black, khaki, or jeans. Black dresses and skirts are also welcomed! If your child has been assigned a role, their costume suggestion
may be different and has been communicated to them. Thank you so much for your attention to this and we look forward to sharing this exciting story with you!
Please feel free to reach out to
nissa.newsome@sjdenver.org with any questions.
Chapel Offering Update
Thanks so much for filling the Colorado Family Life Center baby bottles with your generous donations! Our school community donated $803.66. The St. John's Church mission committee is matching our gift dollar for dollar, so our total gift is $1,607.32! The moms, dads, and children served through the Colorado Family Life Center will truly be blessed.
Our final chapel offering of the year is a travel-sized hygiene items collection. These items will be delivered to a ministry in Juarez, Mexico, by a group of teens and adults from St. John's Church in the summer. Please drop off your items in the bins near the elementary school entrance and community room through May 8. Thanks so much!
Dress Code Reminder: New Season
As we enter this new season, we wanted to send a friendly reminder about our school’s dress code requirements.
Over the course of the year, many students have grown, and items that fit well in the fall may now be shorter or no longer meet our guidelines. We ask that you take a few moments to review your child’s wardrobe and ensure that all clothing continues to align with our dress code expectations.
We greatly value your partnership in this area. Our desire is to cultivate an environment of excellence where students are prepared for learning and present themselves in a way that reflects respect for themselves, others, and our school community.
Parent Teacher Conferences: April 24th
It’s time to sign up for our Spring Parent Teacher Conferences! Please click on your child’s teacher link to select a convenient day and time to meet. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect, discuss your child’s progress, and partner together for continued growth and success.
If you have any questions or need assistance with scheduling, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to your child’s teacher.
Save the Date: A Historic Last Day of School
We are switching things up for our final day of the year! While we usually head to the park for a picnic, this year calls for something a bit more monumental.
Please join us in the school parking lot on May 22 for our 250 Year Tailgate Celebration! We’re trading the park benches for truck beds to honor the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. To make our Semiquincentennial celebration truly unforgettable, we are honored to announce that a live Bald Eagle will be joining us! Families will have the rare opportunity to visit with this majestic national symbol and see it up close. During our Spring Social + Auction, you have the opportunity to bid on a group photo with the actual Bald Eagle!
This is a true community tailgate where families can:
Reserve a free designated parking spot to set up camp.
Bring your own grill, coolers, and picnic gear.
Celebrate the end of the K-8 school year with music, food, and history.
Keep an eye on your inbox—full details and the vehicle reservation link will be sent out on April 25. Spaces are limited, so you’ll want to snag your spot early.
