Weekly Update # 7 - September 29th- October 6th
Where Little Panther Cubs Begin BIG Journeys
From the Principal
Dear Luce Road Families,
🍎🐾 Week Seven Highlights at Luce Road
We’ve made it to week seven, and our Panther Cubs are thriving! From morning greetings to afternoon goodbyes, they are showing pride in their routines, courage in trying new things, and kindness in the way they care for one another. Every day, we see them ROAR with confidence as they grow in both learning and character. 📚💙
🌟 Thank You, Families!
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our very first Thematic Learning Day: Johnny Appleseed Day! 🍎🌳 These special days bring all three of our programs (Childcare, GSRP and Kindergarten) together in unity, learning about the same topic in fun and meaningful ways.
We are already looking forward to our next Thematic Learning Day in October, and we hope to see even more parents join us to share in the learning and joy. Your presence makes these experiences extra special for our Panther Cubs! 💙
🌟 Learning in Action
This week, classrooms were buzzing with curiosity and discovery. Our Cubs are fully immersed in their Math Bridges Curriculum and Number Corner, learning to identify shapes and patterns. They’ve also been counting the school days—did you know we’ve already been in school for 26 days?
In Bookworms Shared Reading and ELA, our Cubs have explored new vocabulary and enjoyed journeys through poems, nursery rhymes, and stories that spark imagination and language development.
🎨 Creativity and Connection
Our Panther Cubs expressed themselves through art, music, and dramatic play. These moments build imagination, strengthen friendships, and help our littlest learners find their voices. Whether painting, building, or sharing in circle time, creativity remains at the heart of our school community.
Up next: students will get to explore dramatic play in the Library—where they’ll be immersed in a camping-themed adventure—and enjoy camping stories both in the Library and in classrooms through Bookworms.
🐾 Preschool and Toddler Cubs
Our Toddler Care Program – Preschool Experience is growing, and students are developing many new foundational skills. Ms. Lynnie and Ms. Brea are guiding our littlest Panther Cubs through songs, sensory play, and gentle routines. Their classrooms are full of laughter, hugs, and little steps toward independence.
GSRP this week we learned all about the parts of an apple and had fun taste-testing different kinds of apples. 🍏🍎🍏 We also worked together to learn new songs and continued practicing our daily routines and classroom expectations. Our preschoolers are growing each day in confidence, teamwork, and joy! ☺️
🧸 Childcare for Alma Families
We continue to expand childcare services for our community, offering:
-
Before and after school care
-
Care on non-school days
-
Snow day coverage
Please reach out to our office for enrollment details.

Johnny Appleseed Day!!
🍎 Johnny Appleseed Day 🍏
Our Panther Cubs had a bushel of fun celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day! The children sampled different kinds of apples and even enjoyed some fresh apple cider. After tasting, they each chose their favorite apple and shared what they liked best. We rounded out the day with hands-on apple activities that made learning both tasty and fun!
