Thanks to our PTA and student volunteers who came out this weekend to beautify our bathrooms and school grounds.

It is greatly appreciated.

Ms. Mary M. McGee was a beloved teacher at A. Russell Knight for 36 years from 1964 to 1990.

In addition to her 36 years of service as a teacher, she has donated $50,000 to ARK.

We are thankful for her service to our community and her generous heart.

You can find a bio of Ms. McGee below.

Mary was the daughter of Irish immigrants. Born in 1924, her father passed away when she was 3 years old, leaving her mother to make a living and raise 3 children. She exhibited her love of learning early on by winning scholarships to high school and college and was a voracious reader throughout her life. After college, she worked in business for a number of years before getting the urge to teach. She returned to college and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in education. She taught mainly third grade, at Russell Knight School from 1964 to 1990. She found her niche and always entertained her family with tales of her days in the classroom and her students.

Mary never married and so her numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews became her focus. She was always patient and willing to spend time with them and to take them to events. She became another grandmother to them and was beloved by all in the McGee family.

The book fair started today and will run throughout the week.

We love getting books into the hands of our students.

One thing we did want you to be aware of is the fact that this is the first year that NJ is mandating sales tax for the book fair.

If you'd prefer to set up an e-wallet rather than sending your child in with cash, you can do so at the following site.

Online shipping is available from 10/10 to 10/23.
