A Message from Mr. Demers A Message from Mr. Demers

Dear DRRHS Families,

October continues to be a busy and exciting time across the DRRHS campus. From classrooms and athletics to clubs, performances, and community events, there is no shortage of activity as we move deeper into the fall. Here are a few highlights and reminders from the week:

  • We hope to see many of our families and community members at our 2nd Annual DRRHS Classic Car Show on October 24th. It promises to be a great day on campus and another opportunity to bring the Falcon community together. Please help us spread the word!

  • Congratulations to the DRRHS Football Team on its 27–13 victory over Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. Great job to our student-athletes and coaches on another strong performance. Go Falcons!

  • As we move further into the school year, this is an important time for students and families to keep a close eye on attendance and tardies. Consistent, on-time attendance is one of the strongest drivers of academic success and helps students remain connected to everything happening in their classes and across the school. Strong attendance also helps students avoid consequences such as Saturday School or the loss of parking privileges. With something for everyone at DRRHS, we never want students to miss opportunities because of preventable absences or tardiness.

There is so much happening across our campus in the weeks ahead. We hope our families and community members have an opportunity to join us at a game, performance, event, or one of the many other activities taking place at DRRHS.

Have a great weekend!

With Falcon Pride,

Dustin Demers
Principal, DRRHS

  • Dighton buses will drop off in the circle outside of the Superintendent's Foyer
  • Rehoboth buses will drop off at the circle in front of the High School Main Office

Students can be dropped off at the High School main office ONLY after busses have departed. Please do not drop your child off while busses are lined up outside of the high school main office. Important Policies Important Policies

Attendance Policy

For student discipline purposes, an unexcused absence will constitute 1 attendance infraction; 2 unexcused tardies or dismissals, or any combination thereof, will constitute 1 attendance infraction.

On a day when a student has an unexcused absence, the student is ineligible to participate in a school-sponsored event, including athletics, on that day.

5 attendance infractions in a term will result in Saturday School.
Until the assigned Saturday School obligation is met, a student is not eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, including athletics. Additionally, if a Saturday School is assigned for disciplinary purposes and the student does not attend, they may also be subject to further disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension from school.

Students who are tardy will NOT be permitted to bring food or drink purchased outside of school into the building.

Students with driving permits who exhibit persistent and/or excessive tardiness (more than 8 in a semester) to school will lose their driving privilege.

Student Cellphone and Electronic Device Policy

Adopted 9/22/26

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. The District's mission to educate children is compromised when personal electronic devices create distractions that interfere with teaching, learning, and student engagement. While we recognize the important role technology plays in communication and connectivity, the District must balance those benefits with its responsibility to maintain an effective educational environment.

The success of this policy requires the support and collaboration of students, families, staff, and administrators. The District respects the decisions made by parents and guardians to provide their children with cell phones and other personal electronic devices; however, expectations for their use in school will vary based on students' developmental and educational needs.

Students who bring cell phones or other personal electronic devices to school do so at their own risk. Students and parents/guardians assume responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of such devices. The District shall not be liable for lost, damaged, or stolen devices, including those confiscated in accordance with school rules or disciplinary procedures. All cellular phones and personal electronic devices brought to school must be used in accordance with District policies, school rules, and student handbooks.

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District does not provide a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) instructional environment. Students are expected to use District-issued devices for classroom learning and academic activities unless otherwise authorized.

Grades PK-12

The use of cell phones and personal electronic devices during the school day is prohibited. Devices brought to school must be powered off or silenced and kept out of sight for the duration of the school day unless expressly authorized by school administration.

Enforcement

Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with applicable school and District disciplinary procedures. Consequences may include the temporary confiscation of devices, loss of privileges, parent/guardian notification, or restrictions on bringing personal electronic devices to school.

Each school level will establish procedures and expectations for implementation of this policy documented in the unified student handbook and code of conduct.

Administrative Review and Exceptions

The Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, or designee may approve exceptions to this policy when deemed appropriate for educational, medical, safety, accessibility, emergency, or other legitimate school-related purposes. Requests for exceptions shall be subject to administrative review and approval. Access to personal electronic devices during the school day is a privilege that may be restricted or revoked when students fail to use such devices responsibly. The District reserves the right to interpret, implement, and apply this policy in a manner consistent with student needs, school operations, and applicable laws and regulations.

Fall SATs now open to register! DR hosting Nov 7th and March 6th.

SAT® registration is now open for fall 2026. Many colleges require or consider SAT scores as part of their holistic admission and placement decisions, and your score is a great way to show colleges you’re ready. This year, it will be more convenient to take the SAT on your schedule, with dates available every month through the end of the year, beginning in August, and the ability to join the Waitlist if the date or test center you prefer is already filled.

Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, and many take it again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score. The SAT can help you keep your college options open, demonstrate your unique strengths, and even qualify for scholarships. And with 100% free practice resources, now including enhanced tailored practice based on your prior test scores and free small-group tutoring, you’ll have everything you need to get prepared.

SkillsUSA – Student Competition Opportunities for the 2026–2027 School Year!

We are excited to continue growing our school's involvement in SkillsUSA! SkillsUSA is a national career and technical student organization that helps students develop leadership, workplace, and technical skills to prepare them for success beyond high school.

We are currently looking for student officers and competitors for the 2026–2027 school year. SkillsUSA is open to all Career and Technical Education (CTE) students and provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, compete in career-related events, and potentially earn scholarships.

Students interested in becoming a SkillsUSA officer or participating as a competitor can sign up below.
