News & Updates

Hello CELC & MVLA Families,

Happy February! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! The weather was BEAUTIFUL! Our weekend was free of sports (I don't know how that happened), so we enjoyed a little extra time relaxing around the house and catching up on laundry :).

Kindergarten students have completed their 2nd diagnostic iReady assessment. We are well on our way to making our goals in reading and math. 2nd trimester report cards will be coming home at the beginning of March. We are excited to share the progress that each student has made.

A huge, and well-deserving congratulations to Stephanie Green and Cheryl Irick. Stephanie, our Administrative Assistant, was voted as the CELC Classified Employee of the Year (CEOY). Cheryl Irick, one of our AMAZING kindergarten teachers, was voted the CELC Teacher of the Year (TOY). Both ladies are extraordinary assets to our campus, students, and families. If you get a chance, give them a shout out!

Mary Barkley, our Office Clerk, continues to work hard to keep up on study contracts and update student attendance. To ensure that your student keeps up on learning and gets credit for attendance, please turn in your student's contract work at the office. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education.

The District continues to be guided by California Department of Public Health and our experiences from last year. Thank you for your support while we continue to navigate the 2021-22 school year.

CUBS IN THE COMMUNITY

The Cubs in the Community tradition continues this school year. Mrs. RIpke's goal is to connect with 100 Cubs (Future, Former, or Current) by the 100th day of school. Building relationships with our students is important to us! If you see Mrs. Ripke out in the community, encourage your student to say hi. Not only does it create an opportunity to connect, it also supports students' language and communication skills. Follow the sightings on our FB page. Feel free to share our postings to spread the word. Mrs. Ripke looks out for future, current, and former Cubs. Check out the latest Cub sightings below. This former Cub was spotted at our favorite place! I must have at least 5 picture with her at the same restaurant. We both must love Mexican food! Miss Warden, look at the smile!
