Hello Vasquez Families!
It's BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!!!!
If you have been watching our Facebook page, our staff are working hard and having some fun getting ready for your students next week. Meet the Teacher is Monday and remember, you will find out who your student will have as a teacher from the rosters posted on the windows beside our front and back entrances.
There is so much to learn and be informed of in this newsletter so please read all the way to the bottom. I try to stick to this newsletter as my primary source of information each week. Teachers will be utilizing ClassDojo as their district approved app for communications. Each teacher will provide you with a code to connect to your child's class at Meet the Teacher.
We hope bedtime routines and school shopping are going well for all! We can't wait to see you all soon.

Come meet your child's teacher and take a look around!
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
* Bus routes and bus numbers will be live in Skyward on Monday, Aug. 10th. Keep in mind the campus does not have information on bus transportation, if you have questions or concerns directly contact the transportation department. The volume of calls are at their peak right now, so please expect some delays.
** Due to continued construction and a lack of sidewalks surrounding Vasquez, the City of Celina has not granted us guarded walkways or crosswalks. That means we will continue to have car rider and bus transportation procedures only. Car tags will be given at the Meet the Teacher, those are required for car pick up. As explained at our parent orientation, ALL STUDENTS that are in the VES attendance zone can request bus transportation. If you did not complete this portion at enrollment, please reach out to Bri Thompson @ briannthompson@celinaisd.com and she can help initiate that process.
Car Rider Traffic Patterns (Morning and Afternoon)
Kinder-4th grade car riders will get dropped off AND picked up in the FRONT of the school.
Pre-K car riders will drop off and pick up in the back. If you have older students, they will join the pre-k student for car rider in the back parking lot.
REMEMBER: All cars need the car rider tags you will receive Meet the Teacher night. Otherwise you will need to park and go in the front door to show ID and be on the allowable pick up list in Skyward.
After School Enrichment: Robotics, offered at VES.
Each Thursday, from 3:00-4:15 PM, starting August 20 until May 20th, we have a partnership with Wize Computing, Robotics and Coding. This is a STEAM enrichment course offered to all K-4 students. This is not a Celina ISD or Vasquez program, but we had a positive experience working with WIZE last year and are happy to announce they are returning.

It is important to me to be solution-oriented and to work with the community to have a place we feel is working together for the betterment of the students.
