As the school year comes to an end, I would like to thank you for helping build strong bridges between our families and our school. As I have shared before, the middle school years are often some of the most challenging times in our students’ lives and sometimes for parents as well.

This year, we have made great strides in our students’ ability to handle difficult situations while also achieving strong state assessment scores. I understand that school is about much more than what is taught each day in the classroom. It is about relationships, personal growth, and learning how to navigate challenges with confidence and resilience. These lifelong lessons will serve our students well far beyond middle school.

As we begin our summer break, I would like to recognize Mrs. Mitchum and Mr. Stacy, who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Mitchum’s 32 years of service and Mr. Stacy’s 37 years of dedication have both made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of students. Their commitment, care, and influence on our school community will not be replaced and they will be greatly missed. We thank them for their many years of service to FCMS and wish them the very best in their retirement.

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year. Together, we are helping our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally into successful young adults. I hope each of you has a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming back our current 6th and 7th grade students next school year.and wish our 8th grade a successful start to their high school years.

Congratulations to Wade Rust and Hudson Roberts for being selected as this week’s “Reading Rockstars of the Week”!

Wade has shown wonderful effort this quarter! He consistently stays focused during Reading class and has made great progress in becoming more responsible. Thank you, Wade!

Hudson is a very kind student, and has never been observed being disrespectful in class to others. We love seeing him get excited about lessons and activities in Reading and Science. Congratulations, Hudson!
