Soaring High With the Eagles... Soaring High With the Eagles...

February 8, 2026

Hello Eagle Families,

All families will be receiving your child's NWEA and AIMSweb score reports soon. Students are assessed three times a year in the fall, winter and spring. The score report will show each child's grade level proficiency and growth so far this year. The NWEA Family Guide will provide more information on the assessment. If you have any questions, please contact our instructional coach Amy Gehrt, or Mrs. McNeil-Dobson.

Fifth grade parents if you would like your child to participate in Operation Snow Flurry, the registration form is due on February 11th. Please contact our social worker, Gayle Dickerson for more information.

We look forward to seeing families at STEAM night this Thursday at Parker Jr. High School. It will be a fun night of creativity and innovation.

Please take a look at the updates in this week's newsletter. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education provides parents, teachers, and 4th-8th grade students with an opportunity to have their voice heard. The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is a research-based survey to help identify strengths and areas for growth in our schools. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including:

  • Effective Leaders

  • Collaborative Teachers

  • Involved Families

  • Supportive Environments

  • Ambitious Instruction

We ask our families to please take the Illinois 5Essentials Survey for by Friday, March 13th.

Hello Dad Force One Community,

Dad Force One is gearing up for an exciting second half the school year with after-school activities, and we need your help to make it all happen!

Who We Are
Dad Force One is a group of dedicated volunteer fathers committed to supporting and enriching after-school experiences for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. From fun activities to positive role modeling, our goal is to create safe, engaging environments where kids can learn, play, and grow.

What’s Coming Up
We have several upcoming after-school events and activities planned, including games, enrichment programs, and special event days. These experiences rely on the energy, involvement, and support of volunteers like you.

How You Can Help
We’re looking for volunteers to assist with:

  • Supervising and supporting after-school activities

  • Helping set up and clean up events

  • Leading or assisting with games, crafts, or enrichment activities

  • Being a positive role model for our students

No special experience is required—just a willingness to help and have fun!

Why Volunteer?

  • Make a direct, positive impact on kids in our community

  • Spend meaningful time supporting your child’s school

  • Connect with other dads and families

  • Be part of something that truly makes a difference

If you’re interested in volunteering or would like more information, please email Robert Kyler or watch for upcoming sign-up opportunities.

Thank you for supporting Dad Force One and helping us create memorable after-school experiences for our kids. Together, we’re stronger—and a lot more fun!

With appreciation,
Dad Force One Leadership Team

Powered by dads. Driven by community.
