The DAR Good Citizen Award
Congratulations to Zoe Johnston, senior at Oakland Early College and Maya Klepaski, senior at West Bloomfield High School. They are recipients of the DAR Good Citizen Award.
The DAR Good Citizen Award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.
West Bloomfield Educational Foundation Grants Update
Content Creation
Students in Ms. Shaw's ASL classes create engaging videos using a ring light, green screen, and backdrop stand from the WBEF. The use of the green screen provides a consistent and clean background for recording videos in American Sign Language. This past week, ASL 2 classes used them to record their midterm. The stands hold their phones and provide soft light for a more professional video!
This is one of the many ways WBEF supports teachers and students. Join us on our mission to directly support our WBSD teachers and students! www.wbef.org
National Honors Society Volunteers
During recent half‑days, Nicole Lafata’s NHS students from West Bloomfield High School volunteered with our Kids Connect program, spending time with K–5 students through games, hands‑on activities, and creative projects. Volunteers played Minute to Win It games, built Home Depot kits, colored together, and shared what NHS and NJHS are—and how students can get involved as they grow.
Celebrating Community at United We Walk
Check out the video from the 32nd United We Walk event to celebrate hope, leadership, and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Thank you to all of the student coordinators, volunteers, United We Walk committee, and WBSD leaders

West Bloomfield Middle School hosts Dinner & Dialogue Part 2
Dinner & Dialogue Part 2 is right around the corner, and we are excited for this meaningful opportunity to connect with our WBMS families. Our first event welcomed nearly 50 parents—let’s fill the tables in the Auditeria once again as we gather in partnership for an evening of shared conversation, community, and connection. Back by popular demand, we’ll be enjoying a delicious dinner from Mezza Grille. All parents and guardians are warmly invited to attend. Please be sure to RSVP so we can prepare an accurate meal count.
