Hello Sandhill Families,
We had another joyful and memorable week at Sandhill! Here's a look back and some important reminders for the week ahead:
Kids Club – Thank You!
- We held our latest Kids Club, a beloved schoolwide event where students participate in mixed-grade, interest-based groups—from yoga and pizza making to dancing and bowling. Thank you to our amazing Working for Kids group and all of our volunteers who made this event possible!
Crane Games & School Picnic – This Week
- Our Crane Games and School Picnic are happening this week! Please see the updated details below, as there are a few important changes from previous years. We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day celebrating our students.
Kindergarten Informance and 5th Grade Concert – This Week - Thursday
- Our concerts for both Kindergarten and 5th Grade are this week! We're excited to see you there! The Kindergarten Informance will start at 8 AM and the 5th Grade Concert will start at 6:00 PM. Doors open for the 5th Grade Concert at 5:30 PM.
Memorial Day – No School Friday or Monday
- There will be no school on Friday or Monday in observance of Memorial Day. We encourage families to take time over the long weekend to reflect and honor the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country.

School Picnic Schedule
- 3rd Grade - 11:00-12:00
- Kindergarten - 11:05-12:00
- 4th Grade - 11:30-12:30
- 1st Grade - 11:35-12:30
- 5th Grade - 12:00-1:00
- 2nd Grade - 12:05-1:00
3-5 Crane Games - 1:00-2:30 PM
Key Details:
- Only one lunch option will be available. It will be a Hot Dog with sides.
- All doors except doors 11 and 6 will stay locked.
- Families will meet their students inside door 11 and the line for lunch will go down the Art/Music hall.
- Sandhill staff will park at LakeView Church to open up family parking at Sandhill
- For this day only - teachers will bring lunch cards to their classrooms and dispense them from there.
- Teachers will reach out to families via Seesaw or email so that we know if students should expect to see their family or not.
- Announcements will be made for each grade level to meet their teachers at the end of their picnic time.
- We invite law enforcement to be a part of this event due to the unstructured nature of the event.

We are highlighting two events in May:- Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and
- National Speech-Language-Hearing Month.
The LMS team has compiled the following resources for your review with your children this month. Resources are sorted in two parts: 1. Elementary students and 2. Middle & high school students.
WFK Updates
Crane Games & School Picnic - Friday, May 30 - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
To celebrate our wonderful students and the end of the school year, our Working For Kids parent group is hosting its 4th Annual All-School Crane Games on Friday, May 30! Grades K-2 will be participating in their Crane Games from 9:10- 10:40am. Grades 3-5 will be participating in their Crane Games from 1:00 - 2:30pm. We need A LOT of volunteers to make this awesome day happen, so please consider helping out! Volunteer for Crane Games!
Our Annual Family Picnic is also Friday, May 30, so please consider coming early or staying later to volunteer for this fun day! Not only do we greatly appreciate the help, but your students will love having you be part of their fun day! Older siblings and/or grandparents are also welcome to sign up to volunteer! Please watch for more information regarding the Family Picnic to come from Mr Johnson or your child's classroom teacher.
