Beginning of the Year Assemblies

Mr. VanderKlok & Mr. Ouellette met with each individual grade on the first day of school to introduce themselves and review expectations. Following these expectations will make it for an enjoyable school year for all!

Mrs. Sokoloski's Passing Time Engagement Board Continues

Mrs. Sokoloski started her hallway board last year. Each day the the board changes. The purpose each day is for students to interact in different ways. The different days include Motivational Monday, Talk About It Tuesday, Win It Wednesday, Think About It Thursday, Fun Fact Friday. These different prompts create fun for students as they pass by her classroom each day!

New Technical Education Class Kicks Off!

We are excited to share that the OMS MEERA lab is up and running. This lab is taking place of the traditional tech ed class that we had been running. MEERA is designed to allow students to explore fields of interest in manufacturing and engineering. For a more detailed description watch the video found below.

Keep Your Final Forms Up To Date

Otsego's Athletic Department partners with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students.

FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, you only enter the same information once and pre-populates information, for each of your students, saving you time.

You can also print the MHSAA health questionnaire or physical examination form directly from your FinalForms site to take to your child's physical appointment. Current year physical = given on or after April 15th of the previous school year. and turned in before the first official practice.

Additionally, FinalForms will allow you to:

• Pay athletic fees online

* Upload any documents needed such as physicals, concussion form, etc all through your FinalForms account.

Make sure and select the sports you will be playing for the current School year to receive preseason information and the start of season practice and tryout information.

OMS-ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible for interscholastic athletics, a high school student must:

TRIMESTER RECORDS: Students may not fail more than one class in the previous trimester of enrollment to be eligible for the current trimester.

CURRENT ACADEMIC CREDIT RECORD: In season a student athlete must carry at minimum, 50% of full credit load for a full time student. A student athlete may not fail more than one class to be eligible.

WEEKLY ELIGIBILITY: A report of cumulative grades will be compiled on Friday of each week and submitted to coaches. The report will reflect student's receiving an accumulative grade of "D" or below. If an athlete is failing more than one class, that athlete will then be ineligible for competition from Monday through Sunday of the next week.
