Benton Weekly Update

Founders Day/Volunteer Celebration Wed, Benton Olympics Fri, Under-H2O Robotics

Congratulations to Jenna Kim who was recognized at last week's La Mirada City Council meeting. Jenna's entry in the Love a Tree poster contest earned 1st Place.

You are cordially invited to our PTSA Founders Day celebration on Wednesday at 6pm this week. We will hold elections for next year's PTSA Board, and recognize parents and individuals who have volunteered their time at Benton this year. We hope you are able to make it!

On Friday we have our annual Benton Olympics at 10am-11:30am. The Benton Olympics will take place on the upper field/track area and spectators may bring their own lawn chairs and enter through the gate on Olive Branch Drive across from the Beatitudes Church driveway (please do not use the church parking lot!)

This upcoming Saturday, Mr. Bremer's Underwater Robotics team will be competing in the MATE ROV competition at Long Beach City College. Wish them luck!

Mark your calendars for our Kaleidoscope VAPA Festival on Friday, May 15th. We like to say that Kaleidoscope is like Coachella, but at Benton! Beginning at 4:30pm with Visual Arts exhibits, there will be multiple stages for performances beginning at 5pm, food trucks, and a robotics Rooma Rumble. This is an event for the entire family and community.

Have you purchased a yearbook? We've only sold about 150 (list linked here) we only ordered 375, and we have 700 students. Buy it now to ensure that you get one; once they're sold out, they're sold out!

Finally, this week we honor our entire Benton Family during Staff Appreciation Week for all that they do for Benton and our students. I truly believe our Benton family is made up of the best people! If you get a chance, be sure to say thanks and let staff know you appreciate them.

Make it a great week!
