Principal's Message
Dear Neubert Families,
It’s hard to believe it’s already November! 🍁 The past 2.5 months have been filled with so much learning, growing, and pure joy. I continue to be amazed by the success of our staff and students alike. Our staff are working hard at teaching, and our students are working hard at learning. I am so grateful to be part of this incredible community. This issue is packed with updates and dates. Thank you for reading it thoroughly so nothing gets missed!
This week, our students will be participating in Erin’s Law presentations. These lessons are designed to help children understand personal body safety in an age-appropriate and supportive way. Please take a few moments to read the “Erin’s Law” section below to learn more about this important state-required instruction and how we partner with families to ensure students feel informed and safe.
Speaking of our awesome staff—
Is there a Neubert staff member you’d like to send a shoutout to? Please consider making their day by completing the form linked in the “Neubert Staff Shoutouts!” section below. I’ll deliver your message personally - and I have to say, your notes always make their day 100% of the time! ✨
Thank you for all you do to support our Knights in achieving success. Have a wonderful week!
Your Partner in Education,
Ms. Nicole Bryan, Principal

Veterans Day Donation Drive and Photo Wall
As Veterans Day approaches, we are excited to involve our students, and our entire school community, in meaningful ways to honor those who have served our country. We invite you and your family to take part in these special activities:
Student Thank You Cards
Every student will have the chance during the school day to create a heartfelt thank you card for a veteran. These cards will be collected and shared with local veterans to show our gratitude for their service and sacrifices.
Donation Drive
We are hosting a donation drive to support local nursing homes in providing needed items for resident veterans November 3-12. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference!
Veteran Photo Display
We would love to celebrate the veterans in our own community! Families are invited to submit photos of relatives who have served. These photos (or copies of photos) will be proudly displayed in the main hallway to honor their service. Please complete the photo template, provided by your student's classroom teacher, and submit them to your student's teacher or to the main office by November 10th. NOTE: All submissions will be returned to the student.
These activities give our students an opportunity to reflect on gratitude, service, and community while honoring the heroes in their lives. Thank you for helping us make this Veterans Day truly special!
Faces of Neubert
Mrs.Patty Kumm - 2nd Grade Teacher
I’ve been teaching at Neubert Elementary for 28 years. Before moving to 2nd grade, I spent 18 wonderful years teaching 1st grade. I love what I do—helping students learn new things and watching them grow throughout the year is such a rewarding experience!
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three boys—Kevin, Patrick, and Thomas. We love hiking, biking, and playing pickleball together. I also enjoy reading, walking, playing board games, and traveling. Some of my favorite places I’ve visited are Italy and Ireland, and I hope to explore Greece someday!
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year!
Neubert Staff Shoutouts
At Neubert, we are so lucky to have such a dedicated and caring staff! We invite you to take a moment to recognize a staff member who has made a difference for your child(ren) or family. Your personal messages will be sent directly to the receiving staff member. Your kind words mean so much and help us celebrate the amazing work happening every day!
Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Native American and Indigenous peoples. This month provides a wonderful opportunity for families to learn together, reflect on our nation’s diverse heritage, and recognize the ongoing influence of Native communities today.
Here are a few simple ways families can celebrate and learn at home:
-
📚 Read Together: Choose a children’s book by a Native author (e.g., Fry Bread, We Are Water Protectors).
-
🎨 Create Nature Art: Make art using leaves, rocks, or feathers inspired by Native traditions.
-
🍞 Cook Fry Bread: Try a simple fry bread recipe and learn its cultural story.
-
🎶 Explore Music: Listen to Native drumming or flute music as a family.
-
🗺️ Map Connection: Find out which tribal nations originally lived in your area.
-
🧠 Family Trivia: Play a short “Did You Know?” quiz about Native history and contributions.
-
💬 Reflection Time: Discuss what you learned and how Native communities continue to shape our country today.
Together, let’s celebrate and honor the stories, voices, and traditions that continue to enrich our shared history.
Erin's Law
Erin's Law presentations will begin the week of November 3rd at Neubert.
Erin's Law is a movement, originating with survivor Erin Merryn, that educates children about personal body safety and empowers them to recognize, report, and prevent child sexual abuse. The core message to families is to have ongoing, open conversations with their children about safe and unsafe touches, the right to say "no" to any unwanted touch, to identify trusted adults, and to understand that the responsibility for abuse always lies with the perpetrator, not the child.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner! Conferences are a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss next steps for continued growth. Please review the details below carefully to ensure a smooth scheduling process:
Conference Dates
Monday, November 24: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Tuesday, November 25: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Scheduling Window
The scheduling window opens Friday, November 7 at 10:00 AM and closes Friday, November 21 at 12:00 PM.
How to Schedule
- Families will schedule their conferences through PTC Wizard using the following link:
👉 https://app.ptcwizard.com/neubert300/login - Your PTC Wizard username and password are the same as your PowerSchool Parent Portal username (all lowercase).
- If your family has children at more than one D300 school, please note that each school has its own PTC Wizard link, and you’ll need to close your web browser between schools before logging into the next one.
Specials Conferences
This year, Parent-Teacher Conferences for Specials classes (Music, Art, PE, etc.) will look a little different. Instead of scheduling individual appointments in PTC Wizard, all Specials teachers will be available together in the gym during conference hours, and families are welcome to stop by at any time to talk with them.
Need Help?
If you need assistance scheduling or resetting your Parent Portal login information, please contact the Assistant Principal. Christina Nowak will be happy to help schedule conferences or reset credentials as needed.
We look forward to meeting with you soon to celebrate your child’s growth and learning!
Unity Through Understanding
This month our focus is on helping students learn about how everyone experiences the holidays in their own special fashion. While it is a joyful time for many families, for some families it can be a challenging one. Whether these are related to the loud hustle and bustle of celebrations, emotional struggles with past holidays, or just fatigue from the busy schedule, we know that with compassion everyone can have a beautiful time. This month the children will learn how different holiday sensory experiences can be just right/too much/not enough for them. Children are wonderful at leading with curiosity and kindness. Please ask your children about what they learned, and they will be happy and proud to share the compassionate and understanding elements they have learned to enrich all of your family holiday experiences. Finding ways to truly enjoy the time and attention together is the best gift you can give!
Cold Weather Reminder
As the temperatures begin to drop, we want to make sure all of our Knights stay warm and comfortable throughout the school day!
Please be sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather. This includes a warm coat, hat, gloves, boots, and snow pants when needed. Students go outside for recess every day unless the temperature (actual or wind chill) is below 10°F, or it’s raining.
To help keep everyone safe and dry, students who do not have boots and snow pants will need to stay on the shoveled blacktop area when there’s snow on the ground. We also encourage families to have children practice putting on and fastening their own winter gear at home - it’s a great way to build independence and get ready for those chilly recesses!
If your child needs to remain indoors for medical reasons, please provide a doctor’s note to the school.
Thank you for helping us keep our students warm, healthy, and ready for outdoor fun this fall and winter!
Transportation Change Reminder
Families, friendly reminder that if you need to make a change to your child’s transportation during the school day, please notify the office as soon as possible, but no later than 1:30 PM. This information has to come from you and not from your child.
This allows us to ensure that teachers are informed and that your child is dismissed safely and accurately at the end of the day.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this important procedure!
The Royal Broom Competition
Congratulations to Mr. Witt's Class!
They are the winners of our Royal Broom Award for keeping the cleanest classroom the entire week of October 20th! Our night custodians crowned them champions, and their room sparkled the brightest. ✨
The Royal Broom competition runs all year long, so who will sweep up the honor next week? 🧹
Lost and Found
Updated 10/30/25
Our Lost and Found is bursting with lonely jackets, water bottles, and sweatshirts that are hoping to find their way back home! Please take a look at the pictures we’ve shared to see if any of these items belong to your child. To help our “lost treasures” get back to their owners even faster, we’d love for you to add your child’s name inside their belongings. That way, we can return them right away before they end up on another adventure in the Lost and Found!
November's Perfect Attendance Reward
🎉 We’re excited to share this month’s Perfect Attendance Reward! Students who have perfect attendance in November will earn a free kids meal at Raising Cane's! 🍗 Let’s keep up the great attendance and enjoy some tasty rewards!
