Menchaca will be offering career photos to encourage our students to dram and see the vision of what they wish to be when they grow up in the future.
Photos will be taken on Tuesday, January 23rd. Please return completed order forms with payment to your child's teacher prior to picture day. For more information, please see the attachment below.
Help Us Stock the Fridge
Show your love and support of MECC by helping us stock the staff lounge refrigerator with drinks for all of our amazing teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians and staff to enjoy!
Drink ideas include: Regular & Diet Sodas, Teas, Flavored Waters, Juices, Sport Drinks, Iced Coffees & K-Cups (for Keurig)
If you are interested in donating, drinks will be collected at the morning drop-off area and in the main office through Friday, February 2nd. Thank you for supporting our school!
Hands-Only CPR Classes: February 7th
The Menchaca nurses will be hosting free hands-only CPR classes on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 here at MECC. A Spanish class will be offered at 4 PM and an English class at 5:15 PM

If you have more than two adults in the same family who would like to learn hands-only CPR, please contact Nurse Heather at heather.siebert@southsideisd.org for one of our class kits to take home. We only have a limited number of these kits and they will be first come first served.

Last week our Average Daily Attendance was 80.3%
Students with perfect attendance from January 9th - April 19th will be entered into a drawing to earn their shot to become Fiesta Royalty in our annual MECC Fiesta Parade.

Don't forget when a student is absent from school, the student must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence.

Use the above link to follow your child's bus at all times. This will ensure that you are at the bus stop ready to greet your child at the end of the day. Remember, ALL MECC students MUST have a parent/guardian or authorized adult at the bus stop to receive their child.
Failure to abide by this SISD safety protocol could result in the loss of bus riding privileges.
